FEROX will be bottled locally in Cameroon and rolled out across four African markets, with former UFC champion Francis Ngannou serving as brand ambassador.

CAMEROON – Boissons du Cameroun, a subsidiary of Castel Group, has expanded its beverage portfolio in Cameroon with the launch of FEROX, a new premium energy drink targeting the country’s growing energy beverage market.
FEROX is bottled locally and will be sold in 50cl cans and 50cl PET bottles. Cameroon is the first of four African markets where the brand will launch.
Francis Ngannou, the Cameroonian former UFC heavyweight champion, is the brand ambassador under a partnership running through 2029.
According to Castel Group CEO Gregory Clerc, the company aims to position FEROX in a market shaped by Africa’s young population and changing consumption habits.
The launch comes as Africa’s energy drink market continues to expand. According to Mordor Intelligence, the market is valued at approximately US$3.65 billion and is projected to reach US$5.93 billion by 2030, representing a compound annual growth rate of 10.19%.
FEROX is not Castel’s first energy drink in Cameroon. Boissons du Cameroun already manufactures XXL locally, a brand with a presence across several African markets.
XXL is also produced by Castel subsidiaries including BRACONGO in Kinshasa, BRASIMBA in Katanga, Brasseries du Tchad in Chad, SOBRAGUI in Guinea and SOBOA in Senegal.
Earlier this month, the company provided school kits to 700 high-performing students in Cameroon’s Northwest and Southwest regions, with 350 beneficiaries selected from each region.
Boissons du Cameroun estimated the average value of each package at about CFA40,000.
The initiative forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility activities focused on education under its 2026 education initiative.
“CSR will remain at the heart of our strategy,” Managing Director Stéphane Descazeaud said.
