New ready-to-mix Spritz Edition offers simple, two-step serves as demand for at-home cocktails continues to rise.

UK – Diageo-owned Gordon’s Gin has expanded its portfolio with the launch of its Spritz Edition range, introducing two new flavours: Strawberry & Passionfruit and Lime & Elderflower.
The new products mark Gordon’s first major innovation in several years and aim to make cocktail preparation simpler for consumers.
Emma Taylor, head of innovation commercialisation at Diageo GB, said the company tested numerous recipes before finalising the two variants. She added that Gordon’s Spritz Edition was designed to help people elevate their casual get-togethers without the complexity traditionally associated with cocktails.
Diageo recommends serving the drinks by pouring 100ml of Prosecco into a flute glass and topping it with 50ml of Gordon’s Spritz Edition to create the “perfect serve.”
According to CGA’s Mixed Drinks Report Q3 2023, demand for Spritz-style cocktails is increasing as more consumers prepare drinks at home, but time and effort remain barriers to adoption.
Tayara Sousa Linke, global head of marketing at Gordon’s, noted that the growing interest in Spritz cocktails inspired the simple two-step format. She said the products offer quality, flavour, and simplicity, creating a vibrant experience suitable for a range of occasions.
Both Spritz Edition flavours have an ABV of 14.7% and are priced at £14 (US$19) per 500ml bottle. Gordon’s marketing director Charlotte Gibbon described the launch as the brand’s most significant development in recent years.
Despite the innovation, Gordon’s has seen a decline in sales volume. The brand sold 2.4 million fewer litres of spirits, liqueurs, and ready-to-drink products in the year to April 19, 2025, with value dropping 9.5% to £336 million.
Earlier in 2025, Gordon’s released a limited-edition Premium Pink range in collaboration with Maya Jama and launched a Lemon Meringue flavour inspired by nostalgic British desserts.
Meanwhile, parent company Diageo has temporarily halted whiskey production at its Balcones distillery in Texas and Cascade Hollow facility in Tennessee, which produces George Dickel whiskey.
Distilling and barrel-filling operations at Balcones were paused in August, impacting 17 roles, while the Tennessee facility was closed temporarily with no job losses reported.
