Jack Daniel’s expands its flavored whiskey portfolio with a new blackberry variant amid shifting consumer tastes and global market challenges.

USA – Brown-Forman-owned Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey has introduced Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Blackberry, a new flavored expression designed to expand the brand’s flavored whiskey lineup.
The release blends sweet and tangy blackberry notes with the bold character of Jack Daniel’s classic Tennessee Whiskey.
According to the company, the new expression offers a smooth, well-rounded finish, making it approachable and versatile for a wide range of consumers.
Master Distiller Chris Fletcher described the innovation as an easy-to-enjoy spirit, ideal for sharing and suitable for any season.
Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Blackberry is bottled at 70 proof (35% ABV) and begins with the distillery’s signature Old No. 7 Tennessee Whiskey. It is made from a mash bill consisting of 80% corn, 12% malted barley, and 8% rye.
The whiskey undergoes charcoal mellowing through 10 feet of sugar maple charcoal and is aged in new, charred American oak barrels in Lynchburg, Tennessee.
This new offering joins Jack Daniel’s existing flavored whiskey range, which includes Tennessee Honey, Tennessee Fire, and Tennessee Apple. The launch reflects the brand’s commitment to innovation through consumer insight and trend analysis.
During Brown-Forman’s full-year earnings call in June, CEO Lawson Whiting identified blackberry as a “globally recognised, well-established flavour trend.”
He emphasized that the company’s innovation strategy is driven by shifting consumer preferences and a desire to broaden engagement with the Jack Daniel’s brand.
For the fiscal year ending April 30, 2025, Brown-Forman reported a 1% increase in overall whiskey sales. Within the flavored whiskey category, Tennessee Fire experienced a 2% decline, while Tennessee Honey and Apple saw respective gains of 2% and 3%.
Other notable Jack Daniel’s releases this year include a Vanilla Coke ready-to-drink (RTD) product and a limited-edition 14-year-old Tennessee Whiskey, the oldest release from the distillery in a century, as part of its 2025 Aged Series.
Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Blackberry is now available in the United States in 750ml bottles with a suggested retail price of US$21.99.
The launch comes amid a challenging period for the U.S. whiskey industry. According to IWSR data, domestic sales volumes declined by 1.2% in 2023 and a further 2% in 2024.
While international sales remained steady, future growth may be affected by potential trade restrictions.
