Oman to set up new poultry slaughterhouse, other industrial projects in Al Mudhaibi

OMAN – A new automated poultry slaughterhouse and a disinfectant production plant are being developed in Al Mudhaibi Industrial City as part of a fresh wave of investments announced.

The agreement for the project was signed between Middle East Livestock Company and the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates Madayn, covering 7,000sqm of land and involving an investment exceeding US$1.95M (RO750,000).

This project is among two separate investment agreements signed in the presence of North Sharqiyah Governor Mahmoud bin Yahya al Dhuhli and Madayn CEO Dawood bin Salim al Hadabi.

The second and larger agreement was finalised with Global Prime Matter SPC to establish four new factories that will produce electrical components, electronics, home furniture and cold storage materials.

This initiative will be built on a 14,538sqm site and represents an investment of approximately US$13mn (RO5mn).

In total, the two deals are worth around US$14.9mn (RO5.75mn) and will see industrial activity expand across more than 21,000sqm within the city.

Officials from both public and private sector institutions witnessed the signing ceremony, signalling the continued collaboration in driving industrial development.

According to Said bin Khalfan al Shabibi, Acting Director General of Al Mudhaibi Industrial City, five industrial projects were attracted during the last quarter of 2024, bringing in a combined investment of roughly US$15mn (RO5.8mn).

These developments followed an October 2024 investment call, pushing the city’s total secured investment to about US$30.1mn (RO11.6mn) over 75,000sqm.

Plans to begin infrastructure development under Phase 1 of the city’s master plan are progressing, with a construction tender expected to be awarded early next quarter.

Phase 1 will include essential infrastructure such as internal roadways, perimeter fencing, security gates, administrative offices, and utility systems for electricity, water, sewage, and internet services.

It will also feature the construction of facilities to support Madayn’s Entrepreneurial and Agricultural Complexes.

Al Mudhaibi Industrial City spans 9 million sqm in total, with the initial phase covering about 1.5 million sqm.

The city lies near the main highway connecting the Special Economic Zone at Duqm to major ports and border crossings, positioning it strategically for logistics and trade.

The development is part of broader national plans under Madayn Vision 2040 and Oman Vision 2040 to establish integrated industrial hubs in partnership with the private sector.
