The new supplement delivers a clinically backed black seed oil composition, with ultra-low free fatty acid profile that helps preserve potency and stability, setting a higher standard for purity and effectiveness.

U.S.A – TriNutra, supplier of its clinically studied ThymoQuin® black seed oil (Nigella sativa), has partnered with wellness brand Nutritunes to launch a premium black seed oil supplement formulated with TriNutra’s flagship ingredient.
The collaboration aims to deliver a product with exceptional purity, potency, and scientifically validated health benefits.
ThymoQuin contains 3% thymoquinone and very low (<1.25%) levels of free fatty acids (FFAs), which are crucial to maintaining its potency. FFAs, when present in higher levels, can cause the oil to become rancid and reduce its effectiveness.
It is a United States Pharmacopeia grade (USP-grade), low acid, black seed oil intended to support healthy cortisol levels, immune health, heart health, and the gut microbiome.
Nutritunes founder and chief scientific officer Nalin Siriwardhana, PhD, FACN, said the company continuously monitors developments in nutritional science and pursues innovations supported by credible, peer-reviewed research.
“When it was time to update our black seed oil, we chose ThymoQuin by TriNutra. ThymoQuin meets our strict standards for purity, potency, and proven effectiveness, making it the clear choice for our premium black seed oil formula. For us, this upgrade is not just about changing ingredients; it’s a scientifically driven step forward.” He added.
Nutritunes Premium Black Seed Oil dietary supplement is available in organic and nonorganic soft gels on Amazon.
In 2024, Health Canada approved six structure-function claims for ThymoQuin, allowing product manufacturers to make specific recommendations based on scientific data presented.
The claims include support of healthy liver function, cardiovascular health, and healthy glucose levels.
ThymoQuin has been clinically tested to improve mitochondrial activity and ATP production, and provide antioxidant activity.
Because thymoquinone can be unstable in the presence of fatty acids, the composition is maintained through TriNutra’s manufacturing process as well as the growing and harvesting methods.
TriNutra CEO Morris Zelkha said the company is excited to partner with Nutritunes, describing it as a forward-thinking and trustworthy firm that sets a higher standard for investing in clinically researched ingredients.
“The black seed oil market is expanding, but not all black seed oils are created equal. Our mission is to partner with companies dedicated to providing their customers with the best possible products validated through clinical research,” Morris stated.
TriNutra is a nutraceutical ingredient company dedicated to addressing unmet health needs through highly effective formulations grounded in science.
Their development philosophy centers on delivering synergistic blends in optimal dosages, supported by clinical research, to ensure efficacy and innovation in functional nutrition.
