JBS posts US$1.75B EBITDA for Q1, FY25

Net income jumps 77.6% in Q1 2025

BRAZIL – JBS has kicked off 2025 with a marked rise in earnings, delivering one of its best first-quarter performances on record.

The company’s net revenue climbed by 28%, while net income increased by 77.6% compared to the same period last year.

Adjusted EBITDA totaled US$1.75 billion (R$8.9 billion), with an EBITDA margin of 7.8% over the three-month period.

JBS pointed to its global presence, operational efficiency, and product innovation as key drivers of the quarterly performance.

In parallel, the company finalized its registration with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as part of its efforts to pursue share listings in both Brazil and the United States.

CEO Gilberto Tomazoni stated that the results support JBS’s long-term approach focused on growth, profitability, and global positioning.

Investment in Seara plants

Shortly after reporting its financials, JBS confirmed it is investing US$37.8 million (BRL 216 million) to modernize and expand four Seara production units in Santa Catarina, Brazil.

The investment is expected to generate 278 direct jobs across the sites involved.

Of the total amount, US$17.1 million (BRL 98 million) will go to expanding pork processing capacity at the Itapiranga facility, allowing it to handle 600 additional pigs per day.

Another US$15.6 million (BRL 89 million) is being allocated to the Bom Retiro unit for the construction of a new breeding stock farm aimed at supporting the pork supply chain.

In addition, poultry plants in Itaiópolis and Nova Veneza will receive US$2.6 million (BRL 15 million) and US$2.4 million (BRL 14 million), respectively.

The Itaiópolis site will see upgrades to its production systems and product lines, while Nova Veneza will boost its processing speed to handle 38,000 more birds daily.

The announcement was made by JBS president João Campos during a public event attended by Santa Catarina governor Jorginho Mello, who highlighted the project’s importance for local economic development.
