dsm-firmenich, WFP renew nutrition partnership to support 60 million lives by 2027
The renewal and expansion of the partnership, which has been ongoing for 18 years, will intensify the fight against malnutrition around the world.
NETHERLANDS – dsm-firmenich, innovators in nutrition, health, and beauty, and the UN World Food Programme (WFP), a humanitarian organization addressing hunger, have renewed their strategic partnership to fight malnutrition, extending it for three years through 2027.
The collaboration now aims to support over 60 million vulnerable people with access to essential vitamins and minerals crucial for health and well-being through nutrient-fortified food.
The partnership combines dsm-firmenich’s cutting-edge nutritional science with WFP’s unparalleled global humanitarian reach and ability to deliver life-changing food and nutrition support to millions in crisis-affected and food-insecure regions.
“This renewed partnership marks the next chapter in our fight against malnutrition. By intensifying our focus on scale, quality, and innovation, we are committed to making a lasting difference in the lives of millions,” Dimitri de Vreeze, CEO dsm-firmenich, commented.
Together, the organizations help expand global access to staples – like rice and flour – which are fortified with essential micronutrients. These fortified staples are then distributed globally by WFP and other humanitarian organizations.

The renewed partnership, which will double its reach to improve nutrition in 32 countries worldwide, demonstrates the power of collaboration across industries, governments, and humanitarian organizations to tackle some of the world’s most pressing nutrition challenges.
It is supported by funding from the newly launched dsm-firmenich Progress Foundation as well as in-kind contributions (technical expertise and products) from dsm-firmenich.
