Lipton Teas and Infusions appoints Marc Busain as new CEO 

UK – Lipton Teas and Infusions has announced the appointment of Marc Busain as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective October 1, 2025.  

The transition will see current CEO Pierre Laubies step down from his executive role and return to the company’s supervisory board. 

Busain, a Belgian national, joins Lipton after a long and distinguished career at HEINEKEN, where he began in the Finance department in 1995. Over the years, he assumed several senior leadership positions across Europe, Africa, and the Americas, consistently delivering strong business performance. 

In 2015, Busain was appointed President for the Americas and joined HEINEKEN’s global Executive Team. During his leadership, the region achieved significant growth, doubling revenue, operating profit, and net profit. Both Brazil and Mexico emerged as key profit contributors under his tenure, strengthening the overall performance of the business. 

Busain also spearheaded major business transformations, including supply chain optimization, revenue management improvements, and the integration of AI-powered sales tools. His focus on premiumisation and the rapid expansion of Heineken® 0.0 played a vital role in broadening the brand’s portfolio.  

In addition, he oversaw the expansion of HEINEKEN’s footprint into new markets such as Jamaica, Ecuador, Peru, the United States, and Belize.

Supervisory board chair Jean-Remy Roussel welcomed the appointment, noting Busain’s proven record in the consumer-packaged goods sector.  

“Marc has tremendous global experience and a track record of consistently delivering growth. With his strong commercial acumen and leadership, I have every confidence that the world’s leading tea business is in good hands,” Roussel stated. 

He also acknowledged Laubies’ contributions, thanking him for his leadership over the past year and welcoming his return to the supervisory board.
