ADM launches new plant-based protein products to expand global protein innovation portfolio

ADM has introduced eight new protein products across North America and Europe to meet rising demand for plant-based nutrition and diversified protein solutions.

USA – ADM has announced the launch of eight new protein products across North America and Europe as part of its continued investment in plant-based protein innovation and high-quality nutrition solutions.

The expansion reinforces the company’s strategy to address rising global demand for diversified protein sources that align with changing consumer preferences, dietary trends and sustainability considerations.

According to ADM, consumer interest in protein continues to grow worldwide, with increasing demand for products offering nutritional benefits, functionality and variety. The company noted that 66% of global consumers are looking to increase their protein intake, while 86% believe it is healthier to obtain protein from multiple sources.

Soy and pea proteins remain key growth drivers within the plant-based category due to their nutritional value, scalability and versatility across a broad range of food and beverage applications.

“Protein is one of the most dynamic areas of nutrition, with consumers now asking for more variety, functionality and choices than ever before,” said Greg Dodson.

“With new ingredient introductions and expanding capabilities in facilities across the globe, ADM is uniquely positioned to not only meet that demand at scale, but to also help shape the future of protein innovation.”

Among the new launches is ProFam 883, a soy protein isolate formulated for protein-rich beverages and powders, offering clean taste and high solubility. ProFam 894 is targeted at dairy alternative applications, including Greek-style yogurt alternatives and drinks.

ADM has also introduced several functional soy protein concentrates under its Arcon range. Arcon IH has been developed for processed meat applications, while Arcon SB and Arcon 412 are designed to support texture, juiciness and yield optimisation across sausages, meatballs, deli meats and chicken.

In addition, the company unveiled a new pea flour ingredient positioned as allergen-friendly, gluten-free and non-GMO.

ADM said the new protein products are designed to support applications including meat alternatives, hybrid protein products, dairy alternatives, beverages, baked goods, snacks and specialised nutrition products.

The company added that its ongoing soy and pea protein development efforts focus on improving taste, texture and nutritional performance while helping customers bring differentiated products to market more efficiently.

ADM’s involvement in plant-based proteins dates back to the 1960s when it introduced the world’s first textured vegetable protein, TVP.

The company continues to expand its soy portfolio with a focus on isolates and functional concentrates targeted at markets across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, North America and South America.

“By expanding our protein portfolio, we’re giving customers more precise, functional solutions that will perform across a wide range of applications,” said Tony Payne. “This is about delivering choice, and giving consumers access to protein sources that are backed by decades of plant-based expertise and global innovation.”

Payne added that ADM’s global innovation network, including its protein solutions centre in Decatur, Illinois, its innovation centre at Wageningen University in the Netherlands, the SojaProtein facility in Serbia and its Customer Creation & Innovation Center in Brazil, supports regionally sourced plant protein solutions tailored to local market needs.
