CCBA appoints David Chait to lead Coca-Cola Kwanza

David Chait takes the helm at Coca-Cola Kwanza as CCBA Mozambique secures Elite Employer status for the fourth time.

TANZANIA – Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) has announced the appointment of David Chait as the new leader of Coca-Cola Kwanza in Tanzania, following a successful tenure as General Manager of Coca-Cola Beverages Botswana.

Chait joined CCBA in 2007 and has held a variety of roles, including Finance Director in Tanzania for nearly five years and Group Revenue Growth Manager from 2017.

He took over leadership of the Botswana unit in January 2020, where he played a key role in achieving significant growth.

During his leadership, Coca-Cola Beverages Botswana formed its first country management team, which quickly delivered double-digit volume and revenue growth over five years.

In 2023, the company invested US$24 million in a wastewater treatment plant and installed a new production line, more than doubling the capacity for 2L PET bottles to meet growing consumer demand.

The Botswana team also earned industry recognition, receiving the Customer Service Excellence award in 2023 and the Quality and Safety Award in 2024, further validating Chait’s effective leadership.

Gavin Hudson, Chief Operating Officer of CCBA, congratulated Chait on his new role, highlighting the company’s commitment to developing internal talent.

“At CCBA, we invest in our people to foster an inclusive and thriving workplace that accelerates our growth,” Hudson stated. “We attract, develop and retain high-performing talent, empowering individuals to reach their full potential.”

Mozambique Operations Earn Elite Employer Certification

Meanwhile, Coca-Cola Beverages Africa in Mozambique has been recognised as an Elite Employer by Tempus Global Group for the fourth consecutive year.

This distinction is based on results from the National Employee Benefits and Human Capital Management Survey, which evaluates organisations from the perspective of human resources professionals.

The 2024 survey included an audit process focusing on areas such as medical insurance, training programmes, anonymous reporting channels, inclusion efforts, and employee wellbeing initiatives. Out of 250 participating organisations, only 36 were certified as Elite Employers, with CCBA Mozambique earning a spot among the Top 10.

Duncan Wyness, General Manager of CCBA Mozambique, reiterated the company’s values: “We create an environment where everyone can succeed together as a team. A culture of growth inspires passion, impact and continuous learning.”

Both appointments and recognitions highlight CCBA’s ongoing strategy to develop talent and reinforce its commitment to building a thriving, people-centered business across Africa.
