Chaichun opens India’s first luxury tea experience room in Siliguri

Chaichun’s new Luxury Tea Experience Room combines immersive tea experiences, education and retail while creating a platform for Indian tea growers to showcase premium teas.

INDIA – Chaichun has inaugurated India’s first Luxury Tea Experience Room, Café & Boutique in Siliguri, introducing a new destination designed to celebrate Indian tea through immersive experiences, education and premium retail.

The launch coincides with the company’s tenth anniversary and marks a significant milestone for both the brand and the wider Indian tea industry.

The inauguration brought together government representatives, policymakers and industry stakeholders to highlight India’s rich tea heritage and strengthen the country’s position in the global premium tea market.

The event also marked the unveiling of Chaichun’s refreshed luxury brand identity, reflecting its evolution into a premium, experience-led tea lifestyle brand.

The newly opened Experience Room features a curated collection of more than 300 teas and bespoke blends sourced from India’s leading tea-growing regions alongside selected international origins.

Visitors can participate in guided tastings, immersive tea experiences and educational programmes designed to showcase the diversity, craftsmanship and heritage of Indian tea.

Beyond serving as a flagship destination for the brand, the facility has been designed as a collaborative platform for India’s tea industry.

Tea growers, estates and producers from across the country will have opportunities to present their products, share their stories and engage directly with consumers, buyers and visitors, helping expand market access and promote greater appreciation for Indian tea.

The Experience Room also offers personalised activities, including Tea Profiling, Make Your Own Blend sessions, Curated Tea Gifting services and structured tea education programmes tailored for enthusiasts, professionals and entrepreneurs.

Speaking at the inauguration, Chaichun Founder Rajeev Baid described the project as a long-held ambition for both the company and the broader tea industry.

“This Experience Room is the realisation of a dream that has been close to my heart for many years—not just for Chaichun, but for the Indian tea industry as a whole. Our vision was to create a destination that celebrates the richness, heritage and craftsmanship of Indian tea while creating opportunities for tea growers, estates and producers to showcase their teas and stories to the world,” Baid said.

He added: “If this initiative helps strengthen tea tourism, support tea-growing communities and create greater appreciation for Indian tea globally, then we will have achieved something far greater than a business milestone. This is our contribution to the future of Indian tea.”

Founded by Rajeev Baid, Chaichun has spent the past decade combining curated teas, innovative blends, modern design and experiential retail to redefine tea culture.

As the company enters its second decade, the new Luxury Tea Experience Room underscores its long-term commitment to promoting tea tourism, supporting tea-growing communities and positioning India as a global destination for premium tea experiences.
