Juicy Marbles launches plant-based salmon filet in the US market
New launch follows rapid sell-out of its previous Kinda Cod release
USA – Juicy Marbles is releasing its second product in the “Juicy Marbles & Friends” line with the introduction of Kinda Salmon, a plant-based alternative to traditional salmon.
The launch comes shortly after the company’s Kinda Cod pre-release, which sold out in under an hour during its online rollout in July.
Kinda Salmon is a whole-cut, uncooked plant-based filet, developed in partnership with Austrian food tech startup Revo Foods.
Unlike many other fish substitutes on the market that come breaded or pre-prepared, this product is presented raw to allow for broader cooking applications.
According to the companies, the aim is to offer a realistic plant-based ingredient that cooks and looks like a raw fish filet.
Juicy Marbles co-founder Luka Sinček said the goal is to replicate the culinary flexibility of raw animal proteins, giving chefs and home cooks an ingredient they can adapt to various meals.
He added that consumers are looking for plant-based options that mimic the feel and utility of real ingredients rather than ready-to-eat products.
The filet uses a proprietary structuring method to deliver a texture that is both firm and tender, allowing it to hold up in different types of preparation.
Each serving contains 13 grams of plant-based protein, and it is fortified with omega-3s from microalgae oil, offering 117 milligrams of DHA and 74 milligrams of EPA.
It also provides dietary fiber, as well as B vitamins including B12 and B6, and folate.
Strategic move into the US market
The partnership between Juicy Marbles and Revo Foods aims to address supply limitations and extend reach in the United States.
Revo Foods CEO Robin Simsa said that while his company has seen interest from American consumers, they have previously struggled to meet that demand on their own.
He noted that working with Juicy Marbles gives them a direct route to a US customer base while aligning with their broader objectives.
Kinda Salmon is now available for purchase through Juicy Marbles’ online store for US-based buyers.
The product is currently limited to the US market, although a UK rollout is expected in the near future.
Customers in other European countries will be able to access Kinda Salmon via Revo Foods’ existing retail distribution partners.
