Kazakhstan, Netherlands sign US$182M agri-food agreements at GreenTech Amsterdam

These collaborations aim to modernize Kazakhstan’s agricultural sector through advanced technologies and international best practices.

KAZAKHSTAN – Kazakhstan and the Netherlands have signed agreements and reached arrangements for joint projects worth €160 million (approx. US$182.7 million) during a business forum at GreenTech Amsterdam 2026, focusing on agricultural modernization, seed production, and logistics integration.

The Netherlands remains one of Kazakhstan’s key trade and economic partners within the European Union. In January-February 2026, bilateral trade reached US$970 million, up 57.9% year on year, with Kazakhstan’s exports totalling US$930.4 million, up 65%.

Today’s agreements confirm the strong mutual interest of businesses in both countries. Kazakhstan is ready to expand supplies of quality products to European markets and create favourable conditions for investment projects involving Dutch partners,” said Arman Shakkaliyev.

The business forum brought together Kazakh companies across the agri-food, food processing, and logistics sectors. Participants showcased their export potential and held B2B meetings with Dutch partners.

Furthermore, the Kazakh delegation held talks with Dutch state and sector organizations about the Dutch inspection control model, which is based on cooperation between the state and accredited industry organizations.

According to the Kazakh side, this model supports a high level of product safety and faster export procedures. Talks with Naktuinbouw focused on cooperation in seed production, certification, and agricultural product quality control. The sides discussed exchanging experience in introducing modern traceability systems and in verifying compliance with international requirements.

Meetings were also held with Axia Seeds and DENSO AgriTech Solutions to discuss the introduction of modern Agri-technologies, seed production development, and investment projects in greenhouse production. These collaborations aim to modernize Kazakhstan’s agricultural sector through advanced technologies and international best practices.

Transport and logistics were also on the agenda. During a visit to the Port of Rotterdam, the sides discussed expanding cooperation in international transport, integrating Kazakh products into European logistics chains, and leveraging the port’s status as Europe’s largest maritime hub to support exports.

In addition, the two sides also discussed further development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, or Middle Corridor, noting its growing role in freight transport between Asia and Europe amid changes to global logistics chains.

The agreements confirm a strong mutual interest in expanding bilateral trade and investment. Strategic alliances in agri-food, seed production, and logistics position both nations to realize long-term economic benefits.

Ultimately, the expansion of the Middle Corridor will enhance Kazakhstan’s connectivity to European markets via the Port of Rotterdam.
