Khaled El-Gazzar appointed International Commercial Manager for MENA at Aviagen
Appointment takes effect on 1 March 2026 and is based in Riyadh
SAUDI ARABIA – Aviagen has named Khaled El-Gazzar as International Commercial Manager for the Middle East and North Africa region, with the role taking effect on 1 March 2026 and based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
In this position, El-Gazzar will report to Bülent Tanyıldızı, the company’s MENA Business Manager, while overseeing commercial operations and customer engagement activities across markets throughout the Middle East and North Africa.
His work will involve managing relationships with poultry producers and partners in the region while coordinating with internal departments responsible for technical services, marketing, and sales operations.
The appointment places El-Gazzar in charge of supporting the company’s commercial plans in the region as it works with customers and distributors involved in poultry breeding and production.
Industry background
El-Gazzar enters the position with more than 16 years of professional experience across the poultry production and animal health sectors, including roles that combine veterinary knowledge with commercial and technical responsibilities.
Prior to joining Aviagen, he worked for MSD for eight years in several positions related to poultry health products and market development within Saudi Arabia and other regional markets.
His most recent position at MSD was National Account Manager, where he handled strategic customer relationships and sales planning for key poultry producers in the Saudi market.
Before that assignment, he served as Poultry Business Manager, where his responsibilities included managing client acquisition processes, overseeing direct sales channels, and coordinating marketing and technical plans for major poultry operations.
During the same period, he also participated in regional initiatives focused on product strategy, market analysis, and cross-functional collaboration in North Africa, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Sudan.
Some of these assignments included project work aimed at maintaining vaccine market presence and conducting competitor analysis and customer segmentation studies across several countries in the wider region.
Earlier career roles
Earlier in his career, El-Gazzar worked at Zoetis Inc. in Saudi Arabia, where he held technical and marketing roles that included account management, field technical support, and customer training activities.
In those positions he carried out farm visits, conducted poultry health assessments, and organized training sessions and industry meetings involving poultry producers and veterinary professionals.
Before moving to Saudi Arabia, he worked in Egypt with IFT Corporation Vetmedica associated with Boehringer Ingelheim, providing technical consultancy, customer support, and field advisory services related to poultry health management.
He began his professional career at New El-Sabeal Company, where he supported poultry producers by offering after-sales services and technical assistance for commercial layer and breeder operations.
