Namibia Breweries becomes official Red Bull distributor

Namibia Breweries Limited becomes the official distributor of Red Bull, enhancing the energy drink’s market presence in Namibia.

NAMIBIA – Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) has announced a strategic partnership with global energy drink giant Red Bull, under which NBL will serve as the official distributor of Red Bull products in Namibia.

The collaboration brings together Red Bull’s international brand influence and NBL’s strong local distribution expertise, aiming to expand the energy drink’s market reach while delivering value to consumers and retailers.

According to a joint statement, the partnership is designed to strengthen Red Bull’s footprint in Namibia through efficient distribution aligned with the brand’s global standards.

NBL will oversee the full supply chain process, ensuring product availability and adapting strategies to local market dynamics.

Both companies emphasized that the partnership reflects their shared focus on sustainability, innovation, and operational excellence, with plans to develop a value chain that supports retailers, maintains margins, and drives long-term growth.

“Partnering with Red Bull allows us to bring an iconic global brand closer to Namibian consumers,” said Waldemar von Lieres, Managing Director of NBL. “With our distribution expertise and local insights, we aim to deliver products efficiently, expand choice, and create value for retailers and communities across the country.”

Founded in 1920 in Windhoek, NBL is one of Namibia’s oldest and most established companies. It is renowned for producing popular brands such as Windhoek Lager, Tafel Lager, and Windhoek Draught, brewed in line with the Reinheitsgebot, the German Purity Law of 1516.

Over the years, NBL has grown into one of southern Africa’s leading beverage producers, exporting to over 40 countries, including those in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

The company operates as part of the Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Group, one of Namibia’s largest private employers.

In 2022, Heineken International acquired a majority stake in NBL, further expanding its international reach while preserving its strong Namibian heritage.

In its half-year results ended 30 June, NBL reported a 9.7% revenue increase to N$2.1 billion (US$121.67M), driven by higher volumes, inflation-linked pricing, and local production gains.

Operating expenses rose 3.5% to N$1.82 billion (US$105.45M), reflecting investments in brand development and the rollout of a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system launched in March 2025.
