Nestlé invests US$73.32M in its Tri An factory to boost production

The investment reflects the company’s confidence in Vietnam’s development potential and its long-term commitment to supporting the country’s growth.

VIETNAM – Nestlé Vietnam, a regional operator of the  Nestlé multinational, has invested US$73.32 million (VND1.9 trillion) to expand the Nestlé Tri An factory in Dong Nai province, Vietnam.

As stated by the company, the investment will develop human capital, technological innovation, digital transformation, green growth and contribute to Vietnam’s comprehensive development in the new period.

Additionally, the investment increases Nestlé Vietnam Company Limited’s total investment capital to nearly VND 20.2 trillion (US$779.52 million), and the total investment for the factory alone in the 2024-2025 period will reach more than VND 4.3 trillion (US$165.94 million).

Binu Jacob, General Director of Nestlé Vietnam, said, “This expansion investment is a testament to Nestlé’s belief in Vietnam’s development potential. It is not only an investment to expand operations, but also a long-term commitment to accompany Vietnam in its growth era.”

The investment news was announced during the company’s celebration of marking 30 years in Vietnam, where it was honoured to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment for its outstanding contributions to promoting agricultural and rural development in Vietnam from 2019 to 2024.

Dong Nai provincial leaders also awarded Nestlé Vietnam a certificate of merit in recognition of the company’s persistent companionship and practical contributions to the community and locality.

Binu Jacob, the General Director of Nestlé Vietnam, expressed pride in the company’s contributions to Vietnam’s development over the past thirty years.

He emphasised on Nestlé’s commitment to continuing its investments to create value and positively impact consumers, the community, and the environment. He also encouraged collective efforts to improve the lives of Vietnamese people.

Nestlé Invests US$15.8M in Spain’s Girona factory

Recently, the company announced a €15 million (US$15.8M) investment in its Girona coffee factory in Spain to enhance the production of recyclable packaging for its coffee products.

The company has already commenced construction on two new energy-efficient packaging lines at the facility, which produces Nescafé instant coffee and Nescafé Dolce Gusto capsules. 

This investment will allow the Girona plant to manufacture Nescafé refill bags in Spain for the first time. Previously, these retail coffee bags were produced in Switzerland and transported to Spain since 2022. 

Para Arnau Pi, Director of Nestlé’s Girona factory, emphasized the importance of the initiative in Nestlé’s sustainability strategy.

“The implementation of these new packaging lines will allow us to use recyclable materials, marking a crucial step toward reducing virgin plastics and promoting a circular economy,” he said.
