Tanmiah Food Company signs deals with U.S. Firms to advance agri-tech, halal food production

Saudi-based poultry firm forms partnerships with Griffith Foods and Poulta Inc. to enhance digital agriculture and halal ingredient manufacturing.

SAUDI ARABIA – Tanmiah Food Company has signed two separate memorandums of understanding with U.S.-based Griffith Foods and Poulta Inc. during the Saudi–U.S. Investment Forum held in Riyadh.

The agreements are aimed at expanding Tanmiah’s role in agri-food technology and halal food manufacturing, with the company seeking to enhance innovation in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy.

The first deal, signed with Griffith Foods, outlines plans to build a local production and research facility that will focus on manufacturing halal-certified ingredients such as sauces, seasonings, and spice mixes for Middle Eastern markets.

This project is expected to promote local sourcing and processing of food components while catering to the growing demand for ethical and sustainable halal food products in the region.

The partnership will combine Tanmiah’s presence in regional food markets with Griffith Foods’ experience in global ingredient solutions to create products that align with consumer needs both locally and for export.

Separately, the agreement with Poulta Inc. involves deploying advanced digital tools across Tanmiah’s poultry production systems, with a focus on artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and big data analytics.

The initiative will include forming a joint venture to deliver digital services to other livestock businesses in the region and launching an agriculture technology research center in Saudi Arabia.

Tanmiah expects the collaboration to support automated operations at its facilities, reduce carbon emissions, and improve animal welfare through data-informed farming practices.

These developments come as the company continues to scale its operations across the Gulf, with distribution in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, and Kuwait.

As of the end of March 2025, Tanmiah operates a network of 150 farms, seven hatcheries, four feed mills, and four main processing units, along with four more plants under joint ventures.

The company’s distribution strategy includes supplying products to wholesalers, retailers, and food service channels, as well as selling directly to consumers via digital platforms.

Tanmiah is listed on the Saudi Exchange under ticker symbol 2281 and is partially owned by Al-Dabbagh Holding Group, which is also one of its founding shareholders.

The company reports various sustainability efforts such as tree planting, recycling wastewater, and converting waste into fertilizer as part of its operational model.
