The move comes as the company sharpens its focus on marketplace efficiency and merchant growth.

GLOBAL – Uber has named Susan Anderson as its new global head of delivery, a leadership change that signals a clear focus on tightening operations and expanding partnerships across its food and retail services.
The company confirmed the appointment on Friday. Anderson now oversees strategy and day-to-day delivery operations for Uber Eats across more than 30 countries.
She also joins the executive leadership team and takes on the task of strengthening the delivery platform’s relationship with merchants and restaurants.
“Susan has worn many hats at Uber across a variety of businesses and regions, always willing to go get it and deliver in times of both need and opportunity, for Uber,” said Uber Chief Operating Officer Andrew Macdonald.
“Our Grocery & Retail business has hit a real inflection point under Susan’s leadership, and I’m excited to see her step into this new role.”
A track record of strong performance
Before stepping into this position, Anderson led Uber’s grocery and retail division. Her work in that role helped shape Uber’s wider offering for customers looking for quick and dependable shopping delivery.
She also previously headed Uber for Business, which serves corporate clients with rides and meals through the Uber app.
Anderson joined Uber in 2016 following her time at Amazon in the UK, where she played a key part in launching Prime Now.
Her background also includes senior roles at Bain & Company and Capital One, experience that now supports her approach in leading large teams through change and growth.
According to Uber, the delivery platform served 170 million active users and partnered with 1.2 million merchants as of the first quarter of 2025. This growth reflects the increasing demand for delivery services across regions and sectors.
Delivery business on strong financial footing
Uber’s latest financial results support the company’s continued focus on delivery. In 2024, Uber recorded US$45.38 billion in total revenue, up from $43.98 billion the previous year.
Net income rose to US$12.29 billion in 2024, a strong jump from US$9.86 billion in 2023. Operating income also improved, reaching US$3.86 billion in 2024 compared to US$2.80 billion in 2023.
These figures suggest that Uber is growing its delivery business while keeping an eye on profit. The decision to promote from within also shows confidence in leadership that already understands Uber’s fast-moving environment.
Anderson now takes the wheel at a time when the company is focused on improving both efficiency and user satisfaction. With her experience in logistics, strategy, and retail, industry watchers will be paying close attention to how she shapes Uber’s next chapter in delivery.
