Ferrero’s latest investment package strengthens its French manufacturing network and supports the launch of Nutella Cookies production in Europe.

FRANCE – Ferrero has announced a new €60 million (US$69.34M) investment programme in France aimed at expanding production capacity, supporting product innovation and strengthening its industrial and logistics infrastructure in one of its key European markets.
The announcement was made during the Choose France summit and includes investments at the company’s Villers-Écalles plant in Normandy and the Nieppe facility in Hauts-de-France, which is operated by Biscuits Delacre, a Ferrero affiliate.
The investment programme is linked to the launch of a new Nutella-branded product and forms part of the company’s broader industrial development strategy in France.
Ferrero said it has invested nearly €210 million (US$242.67M) in the country since 2021 to modernise manufacturing facilities, expand logistics operations and advance environmental transformation projects.
The latest €60 million commitment builds on these efforts and reflects the company’s long-term focus on strengthening production capabilities and supporting brand growth.
According to Ferrero, France remains a strategic market within the group’s European operations, with investments designed to enhance industrial development and contribute to regional economies.
Part of the new programme includes a €15 million (US$17.33M) investment in the Villers-Écalles facility, which Ferrero describes as the world’s largest Nutella production plant. The site accounts for 26% of global Nutella production and will benefit from industrial modernisation and environmental transformation initiatives.
The company has also allocated a further €15 million to develop a new 3kg Nutella packaging line targeting professional users.
A major component of the investment plan is the launch of Nutella Cookies production at the Nieppe factory in Hauts-de-France. Ferrero is investing approximately €30 million (US$34.67M) to install a dedicated production line for the product, which the company said will be unique within the European market.
In addition, Ferrero recently completed two logistics warehouses in Cléon and Barentin, projects initially announced during the Choose France 2025 event.
“France has held a central place in Ferrero’s industrial and logistics strategy in Europe for many years,” said Mauro de Felip, Managing Director of Ferrero France.
“The investments announced today reflect our commitment to pursuing sustainable and tangible development in the country, by strengthening our industrial capabilities, supporting the innovation of our brands – such as the launch of Nutella Cookies on the French market – and making a lasting contribution to the economic vitality of the regions in which we operate,” he added.
Ferrero has operated in France for more than 60 years and currently employs 1,400 people. According to the company, its activities also support approximately 11,300 indirect and induced jobs across the country.
