Focus on organic and healthy food offerings

SAUDI ARABIA – Al Watania has launched a new retail showroom in Abha, Saudi Arabia, in line with its strategy to expand its retail footprint and offer customers a modern shopping experience.
The company said the new outlet will carry a range of organic and health-oriented products it produces and distributes, presented in a modern setting aligned with customer expectations in the region.
Al Watania emphasized that its locally raised chickens are reared without cages and fed on a corn-only diet, with no hormones used in the growth process.
The firm said it maintains high standards of animal welfare and veterinary supervision throughout production to ensure its chicken products remain juicy and tender.
Al Watania noted that its commitment to stringent quality checks underpins the Tanmiah quality assurance program and aims to deliver consistently high standards for consumers.
In addition to fresh poultry, the company’s Added-Value Food division is responsible for producing and selling a variety of ready-to-cook, ready-to-eat, and custom-prepared poultry, turkey, and beef items to hotel, restaurant, and catering clients across the Middle East.
The division also manages a logistics network to efficiently move these products through storage and distribution channels.
Customers for these product lines include both local and international quick-service restaurant brands as well as other significant operators in the gourmet food and hospitality sectors throughout the region.
Supreme Foods Processing Company, part of the broader group, supplies chilled or frozen products for final preparation in professional kitchens.
Last year, financial news outlets reported that Brazilian meat producer JBS SA and Saudi food company Almarai Co were among potential bidders for Al-Watania Poultry, considered the largest poultry producer in the Middle East.
According to those reports, both JBS and Almarai submitted offers for a full acquisition, but details remained confidential as discussions were private.
Meanwhile, Saudi-based Tanmiah Food Co and a buyer group led by Ukrainian agri-tech firm MHP also presented acquisition proposals.
