Aviagen appoints Antonin Bonneau as President for Asia

The appointment takes effect on April 11, 2026, following more than two decades of industry experience in the region.

ASIA – Aviagen has appointed Antonin Bonneau as President for its Asia operations, with the poultry breeding company stating that the leadership change will take effect on April 11, 2026.

In the new position, Bonneau will oversee business activities across Asian markets while coordinating with regional teams and customers as the company continues expanding its poultry breeding operations throughout the region.

The company said the appointment forms part of its ongoing efforts to manage growth in Asia while maintaining close engagement with customers operating in poultry production systems across different countries.

Leadership transition in Asia

According to Aviagen Chief Executive Officer Jan Henriksen, Bonneau’s experience in poultry markets across Asia and familiarity with regional production conditions influenced the company’s decision to appoint him to head its Asian business operations.

Henriksen stated that Bonneau’s leadership experience and understanding of industry requirements across the region are expected to guide the company’s commercial and technical work with poultry producers.

Bonneau said his priority will be to work with both Aviagen staff and poultry producers across Asia to address the diverse expectations and production systems in the region.

He added that cooperation with customers and internal teams will remain central to efforts to maintain poultry breeding programmes and support production goals in the markets served by the company.

Background in regional agribusiness leadership

Bonneau joins Aviagen after spending 13 years at Ceva Animal Health, where he held several senior management positions covering markets in Southeast Asia and China.

During his time at Ceva, he worked as Country Manager, overseeing operations in Vietnam, Cambodia, and China, before later taking on the role of Asia Pacific Vice President.

Overall, Aviagen said Bonneau has accumulated more than 24 years of leadership experience in international agribusiness, with responsibilities including market development, operational planning, and managing multicultural teams.

Academically, he holds both a Master of Business Administration degree and a master’s qualification in agribusiness, according to information released by the company.

Across Asia, poultry production systems vary widely depending on climate, market structure and consumer demand, which Aviagen said influences how breeding programmes are developed and implemented.

The company operates in the region using multiple breeding brands, including Arbour Acres, Indian River and Ross, with each line designed to serve different production environments and market requirements.

Aviagen said Bonneau will focus on aligning global breeding research with regional supply networks and farm-level production needs while supporting poultry producers working to maintain stable output and food supply across Asian markets.
