Careem offers Udhiya meat pre-orders ahead of Eid Al Adha in the UAE

Customers in Dubai and Abu Dhabi can order or donate Qurbani meat via the Careem app

UAE – Residents in Dubai and Abu Dhabi can now pre-order their Udhiya (Qurbani) meat through Careem Groceries as the company relaunches the service in time for Eid Al Adha.

Available from May 15 through June 4, 2025, the service allows users to purchase a goat or sheep directly in the Careem app, selecting their preferred type of meat and cut.

Buyers can opt to receive the meat at home or donate it through the UAE Food Bank, offering flexibility to either participate in the sacrifice personally or support a charitable cause.

The meat is sourced and prepared by Dhabayeh Al Emarat, a UAE-based supplier, in accordance with Islamic requirements for the festival.

Careem has reintroduced the feature for a second consecutive year, after customer uptake in 2024 showed strong demand for a digital way to fulfill this religious obligation.

According to the company, users can select the day of sacrifice during any of the four days of Eid, with same-day delivery provided for those choosing to receive their meat at home.

For those opting to donate, the UAE Food Bank handles distribution, aiming to deliver the meat to underprivileged families across the country.

The Food Bank has distributed over 70 million meals since its launch and is one of the main channels through which Careem enables charitable giving during the holiday.

Chase Lario, Vice President of Careem Groceries, said the company is responding to customer needs by integrating cultural practices into its services.

All pre-orders must be completed by two days before Eid to ensure timely processing and fulfillment.

Customers who wish to use the service need to download or update the Careem app and select the ‘Udhiya’ option from the home screen.

The service is currently limited to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and pricing varies depending on the animal and meat preferences selected, starting at around US$190 (AED 700).

Careem’s groceries vertical is part of its broader platform strategy, which includes food delivery, transportation, payments, and other services across more than 70 cities in 10 countries.
