Eskort launches South Africa’s first pork range for children

The line includes six items designed for convenience, nutrition, and kid-friendly flavours.

SOUTH AFRICA – Eskort has introduced Eskort Kiddos, a range of pork products aimed at children, marking the first time in South Africa that pork has been made specifically for younger consumers.

The collection features six products with playful names including Flingas, Tootsies, Smashies, Wim Wams, Tonkies, and Cheesy Wiggles, each designed to make meals more engaging for children.

According to Eskort CEO Arnold Prinsloo, the company identified a gap in the market for child-focused pork products and aimed to create items that combine enjoyment for kids with reassurance for parents.

Eskort Kiddos products are made from antibiotic-free pork and crafted with mild flavours and soft textures to suit younger palates while meeting parents’ expectations for quality.

The range contains no added MSG, and some variants are gluten-free, giving parents confidence that the products are suitable for growing children.

Most items in the range are par-cooked, allowing preparation in under 15 minutes using an oven or air fryer, providing convenience for busy households.

The Flingas product offers crumbed pork fingers ready in 8-10 minutes and designed to be dipped or paired with vegetables or potato sides.

Tootsies are crumbed pork nuggets shaped like piggy snouts, with a soft texture and ready in 10-12 minutes for a fun snack or meal option.

Smashies are mini pork patties weighing 50 grams each, intended as child-sized sliders and ready in 8-10 minutes as an alternative to beef or chicken burgers.

Wim Wams are bite-sized crumbed frikkadels, mild in flavour and suitable for small appetites, ready in 8-10 minutes, and can be served with mash or as finger food at parties.

Tonkies combine potato and Eskort bacon in crumbed balls, offering a heartier snack ready in 15-18 minutes that differentiates from standard potato balls.

Cheesy Wiggles are mini cheese viennas made with real cheese, ready in 2-3 minutes, designed for quick breakfasts or lunchbox needs.

Prinsloo highlighted that while chicken and beef products for children are common in South Africa, no comparable pork range had existed before Eskort Kiddos.

The range’s branding uses bright colours, engaging characters, and playful product names to attract children and encourage mealtime enjoyment.
