French poultry heavyweight LDC Group reports 17% revenue growth in third quarter

Recent acquisition of UK duck company expands LDC’s international footprint.

FRANCE – LDC Group recorded sales of nearly US$2.17 billion for the third quarter, covering September to November 2025, reflecting a 17% increase compared with the same period last year.

The company’s sales volume rose more than 10% year-on-year, supported by steady demand for poultry products and the gradual integration of its recent acquisitions.

On a like-for-like basis, LDC reported a modest 0.7% rise in sales volume, while revenue for comparable operations climbed close to 10% versus the third quarter of 2024.

All of the group’s divisions, including French Poultry, Catering, and International, recorded positive results during the latest quarter, maintaining a pattern consistent with the first two quarters of the fiscal year.

For the 2025-2026 financial year to date, covering March through November 2025, LDC posted a 13% increase in sales volume and revenue of nearly US$2.03 billion, up more than 16% from the same period last year.

Based on current performance and market trends, the company projects full-year revenue to exceed US$8.2 billion, with EBITDA expected to surpass US$655 million.

Acquisition of Green Label Holdings

In early December, LDC acquired a majority stake in Green Label Holdings Ltd, a UK-based producer of duck and other specialty poultry under the Gressingham brand.

Green Label, which employs around 700 people across farms and processing facilities in East Anglia, produces roughly half of its products on its own sites and offers a variety of poultry and game birds, including turkey, goose, and corn-fed chicken.

The Gressingham brand, founded in 1971 by Maurice and Miriam Buchanan, became focused on a hybrid duck in 1989 and is sold through major UK retailers, independent grocers, butchers, and high-end restaurants.

LDC’s CEO, Phillippe Gelin, stated that the acquisition aligns with the group’s strategy of expanding internationally and creates new opportunities for the company, its customers, and farming partners.

LDC Group ranks among Europe’s largest poultry producers, with well-known brands such as Maitre Coq, Volailles Le Fleuron, Bio Bresse, Fermiers de Loué, Le Gaulois, and Chip Long, and exports representing about 20% of its sales.

The company operates 105 sites across France, Poland, Hungary, Germany, Romania, Belgium, and the UK, employing roughly 27,000 people, and recorded a turnover of US$7.3 billion in its previous full financial year.
