Ghana plans to relaunch Made-in-Ghana Fair to promote local beverages, enhance supply chains, and expand domestic and international market opportunities.

GHANA – Ghana is set to revive the Made-in-Ghana Fair as part of efforts to promote the local beverage industry and enhance the visibility of Ghanaian brands in domestic and international markets.
The initiative, aimed at boosting local production and expanding market access, was announced by Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, during the 10th edition of the Ghana Beverage Awards held in Accra.
Speaking on behalf of John Dramani Mahama, Ofosu-Adjare highlighted the importance of the beverage sector in driving economic growth and employment. “This industry plays a vital role in Ghana’s economic development, creating jobs and supporting livelihoods,” she said.
A key focus of the government’s strategy is strengthening linkages between local farmers and beverage producers.
The Feed the Industry Programme has been introduced to connect agribusiness production directly to industrial demand, ensuring a consistent supply of raw materials through coordinated use of land, youth, and irrigation infrastructure.
The minister said the initiative is designed to reduce reliance on imported inputs while improving supply chain resilience across the sector. She also noted that an upcoming agribusiness policy will provide a broader framework for accelerating growth through value addition.
“The fair will serve as an important tool for promoting local products and enhancing the image of Ghanaian brands, both locally and internationally,” Ofosu-Adjare said, urging producers to improve product quality and expand their global presence.
Meanwhile, Ernest Boateng, Chief Executive Officer of Global Media Alliance, called on industry players to adopt emerging technologies to sustain growth.
“Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to revolutionize how we operate, from predicting customer needs to improving product quality and operational efficiency,” he said.
The revival of the Made-in-Ghana Fair is expected to strengthen the country’s beverage industry by promoting locally produced goods, supporting manufacturers, and enhancing competitiveness in both regional and global markets.
