JDE Peet’s raises 2025 forecast on strong H1 sales, profit despite high coffee prices

The company reports solid half-year growth, driven by strong pricing, cost control, and strategic business realignment.

USA – JDE Peet’s, the global coffee and tea giant behind brands such as Jacobs, L’Or, and Douwe Egberts, has raised its full-year outlook for 2025 after posting stronger-than-expected operating results for the first half of the year.

The company now expects organic sales growth in the high-teens percentage range, up from its earlier projection of high single-digit growth. It also anticipates stable adjusted operating profit and a free cash flow of approximately EUR 1 billion.

The performance comes amid ongoing challenges in the global coffee market, particularly elevated green coffee prices. During the first half of 2025, average green coffee prices were more than 60% higher than the same period in 2024. While prices surged in the first four months, they showed signs of easing in the final two months of the semester.

JDE Peet’s CEO, Rafa Oliveira, credited the solid performance to continued focus on topline growth, profitability, and operational efficiencies. The company has implemented cost management measures to offset inflationary pressures, including productivity initiatives and selective price adjustments to maintain consumer affordability.

In the first six months of 2025, JDE Peet’s reported a 22.5% increase in organic sales, reaching EUR 5.045 billion. This growth was driven by a 21.5% increase in pricing and a 1.0% improvement in volume and mix. Adjusted profit rose to EUR 1.665 billion, up 2.2% from EUR 1.636 billion in the same period last year.

The company also made notable progress on its five key strategic priorities outlined earlier in the year. Among the actions taken were the divestment of its tea business in Turkey, halting the U.S. rollout of the L’OR Barista machine, and transferring its L’OR capsule operations in the U.S. to Peet’s.

Other measures included the planned closure of its Banbury factory in the U.K., optimization of its European operating model, and centralization of finance activities through a global services framework.

Earlier in July, JDE Peet’s launched a new growth strategy titled “Reignite the Amazing,” focused on three brand-led pillars—Peet’s, L’OR, and Jacobs-led local icons—to drive long-term value.
