Radico Khaitan posts 73% surge in quarterly profit on strong premium spirits demand

Radico Khaitan’s premium offerings boost earnings as consumers in India continue spending on upscale alcoholic beverages.

INDIA – Radico Khaitan has reported a 73% increase in consolidated profit for the quarter ended June 30, supported by strong demand for its premium product lines.

Profit rose to 1.31 billion rupees (US$14.95 million), up from 753.8 million rupees during the same period last year.

The Indian liquor manufacturer saw a 47.2% growth in total volume, with its higher-end “Prestige & Above” segment recording a 40.8% increase in volume. Revenue surged 24.6% to 53.14 billion rupees (US$609.94M) from 42.67 billion rupees (US$489.3M) in the previous year, according to the company’s unaudited results.

India’s premium alcohol segment continues to perform well, with urban consumers maintaining discretionary spending on upscale spirits. This resilience in the premium category has helped producers like Radico Khaitan offset weaker performance in the mass-market segment.

Radico Khaitan has capitalized on this trend by expanding its premium portfolio. Brands such as “Rampur” Indian Single Malt Whisky and “Jaisalmer” Indian Craft Gin have played a key role in driving growth.

The company recently introduced a new line under its flagship Magic Moments brand — the ‘Flavours of India’ vodka series. This range features Alphonso Mango and Thandaai variants, combining traditional Indian ingredients and flavors with its vodka base.

The brand’s flavoured vodka portfolio has recorded a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 25% over the past five years, while the premium Verve range has achieved a 95% CAGR in the same period.

Founded in 1943, Radico Khaitan operates distilleries in Rampur, Sitapur, and Aurangabad, with a total capacity of 320 million litres. It exports products to over 102 countries.
