The company introduces its latest freezer-to-fryer chicken line as part of efforts to meet demand for convenient and healthier protein options.

SOUTH AFRICA – Rainbow Chicken has rolled out a new product line, the Farmer Brown Nourish range, following closely after the launch of its Farmer Brown Naked range.
The company said the new offering is aimed at consumers seeking easy-to-prepare chicken products that balance taste with health-conscious choices.
According to Rainbow Chicken, the Nourish range builds on the company’s 60-year legacy of providing quality poultry to South African households while adapting to modern nutritional preferences.
Brand manager Nhlakanipho Ngubane said the range is meant to reflect the brand’s commitment to ensuring that nutritious food options remain accessible to all families.
Ngubane added that Nourish was developed to provide meals that support overall well-being, particularly for people monitoring their heart health.
Rainbow Chicken described the range as a response to what it calls an overly processed frozen food category, positioning Nourish as a lean protein option with low sodium levels.
The company stated that all products under the new range are made from 100% full-muscle chicken, not processed meat, and come lightly coated with real ingredients.
The range includes three variants, Wholegrain, Lightly Dusted, and Sourdough, intended to appeal to a variety of tastes while promoting healthier eating.
In addition, the company said the products are designed to fit into a heart-conscious lifestyle without sacrificing flavour or texture.
Rainbow Chicken noted that the new line is already available in major retail outlets across the country.
The launch comes about a month after the company introduced the Farmer Brown Naked range, which targets persistent shortages of fresh chicken in local stores.
The Naked range features individually quick-frozen (IQF) portions that can be stored for longer periods, offering a solution for households affected by supply chain delays.
Rainbow Chicken said the range was created after analysing consumer shopping habits to ensure convenience and consistent quality.
The portions, sourced from cage-free chickens raised on a vegetarian diet, are trimmed to remove excess fat and skin and lightly brined for improved texture.
The company added that the IQF process helps maintain taste while reducing shrinkage during cooking.
Packaging for the product includes resealable, recyclable bags designed to make portion management and storage easier for consumers.
Retailers also benefit from the design since the product is supplied in cartons that can be stocked directly into freezers, reducing restocking time and costs.
The Naked range is currently available at Checkers supermarkets nationwide and will remain exclusive until September 2025.
