Refriango inaugurates a new factory in Kinshasa’s Maluku SEZ, expanding beverage production and introducing new juice and water products in the DR Congo market.

ANGOLA – Refriango, one of Angola’s leading producers and distributors of soft beverages, has officially inaugurated a new state-of-the-art factory in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The facility is located in Maluku Special Economic Zone in Kinshasa and is equipped with advanced technology designed to support large-scale production, product innovation and quality delivery in the market.
The Maluku Special Economic Zone is situated along the Congo River, outside Kinshasa along Route Nationale 1, and is built on the site of a former steel factory previously owned by Société d’Exploitation Sidérurgique (SOSIDER).
Refriango is the market leader for carbonated soft drinks in Angola and recently became a bottler for Coca-Cola in the country following the company’s separation from Castel. In addition to soft drinks, the company produces juices, bottled water and energy drinks.
Its portfolio includes brands such as Blue, Red, Tutti, Nutry and Speed.
Following the factory’s launch, the company has introduced new products in the Congolese market, including Tutti Frutamix in Orange and Mango variants, as well as Pura Water, currently available in two formats.
Tânia Sousa Jardim, Chief Marketing Officer at Refriango, said the investment marks a significant milestone for the company’s expansion strategy.
“But this is only the beginning. With more than a handful of brands and dozens of SKUs, Refriango RDC is proud to be the only local producer of 100% fruit juice in the country. And this platform will continue to grow, with new innovations already on the way,” Jardim said.
She added: “Reaching this milestone required vision, resilience and extraordinary teamwork. My deepest thanks to every team member and partner who helped bring this project to life.”
Refriango has already established an export presence in several African markets, including Guinea-Bissau, São Tomé and Príncipe, Namibia, South Africa and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Jardim said the company is now entering a new phase focused on market growth and execution.
“Until now, our focus has been on building the industrial foundation and developing great products. Now, we enter a new phase: winning in the market. A phase defined by commercial excellence, distribution strength and disciplined execution,” she said.
