Rémy Cointreau Q3 organic sales rise 2.8% despite currency headwinds

Improved Americas performance lifts Rémy Cointreau’s Q3 organic sales as currency effects weigh on reported results.

FRANCE – Rémy Cointreau has reported a 2.8% increase in organic sales to €261.1 million (US$311.2 million) for its fiscal third quarter ended December 31, supported by improved performance across its core business lines.

On a reported basis, however, sales declined 3.3% to €245.8 million (US$293.47M), reflecting the negative impact of foreign exchange movements.

The Cognac division, Rémy Cointreau’s largest business by sales, generated reported revenue of €150.2 million (US$179.34M) during the quarter, down 3.5% year-on-year. Despite the reported decline, the segment delivered organic growth of 3.2%.

The group said the “performance reflects solid momentum in the Americas region for the fourth consecutive quarter.”

In the Asia-Pacific region, Cognac sales “edged down” as conditions in China “remained challenging, especially in the high-end segment,” the company said. Rémy Cointreau added that market conditions in the region continued to weigh on volumes despite signs of stabilisation.

The Liqueurs & Spirits division posted reported sales of €90.3 million (US$107.8M), down 2.4%. On a constant-currency basis, sales reached €95.1 million(US$113.54M), translating into organic growth of 2.8%. The company said growth in the Americas was driven by its Cointreau and The Botanist brands.

In APAC markets, the division “posted a limited decline in sales in China and the rest of Asia,” while Australia was “penalised by a high basis of comparison and phasing effects,” Rémy Cointreau said.

Excluding the timing of the Lunar New Year, China’s performance was described as “almost stable,” supported by the return of Cognac to the duty-free channel and the “excellent performance” of e-commerce sales during the Double Eleven shopping festival in November.

Within the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, the group returned to growth in most markets, led by Cointreau and Greek spirit Metaxa.

For the first nine months of its financial year, Rémy Cointreau recorded sales of €735.4 million, down 6.6% year-on-year.

The company reaffirmed its 2025–26 guidance, targeting organic sales ranging from flat to low single-digit growth, while sustaining investment in China and the United States.
