Scandi Standard reports US$336M in sales for Q2 2025

SWEDEN – The volume of chicken processed by Scandi Standard in the April to June 2025 period reached nearly 73,400 metric tons, a 6% increase from the same quarter in 2024.

This rise in production was driven by heightened demand across its primary markets in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Ireland.

Revenue for the quarter rose by 10% year-on-year at fixed exchange rates, reaching approximately US$336.5 million (SEK3.54 billion).

Operating income, recorded as earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT), totaled around US$13.1 million (SEK138 million), which marks a 9% rise from the previous year’s second quarter.

The EBIT margin saw a modest improvement of 0.1 percentage point, coming in at 3.9% for the quarter.

Chief Executive Jonas Tunestål attributed the improved performance to consistent market demand and confirmed that the company is continuing its investment in production capacity and efficiency across its facilities.

Production and expansion projects

Scandi Standard is working on increasing output by investing in its owned bird production, which includes expanded operations in Lithuania, where recent facility acquisitions have begun contributing to operating earnings.

In the Netherlands, a newly acquired ready-to-eat processing plant in Oosterwolde is undergoing development after being purchased earlier this year, following damage from a 2023 fire.

These production enhancements form part of the company’s broader efforts to strengthen supply to both domestic and external markets.

Six-month results and operational improvements

For the first half of 2025, total processed chicken amounted to over 145,000 metric tons, a 4% rise compared to the same period last year.

During the six-month span, the company posted sales of about US$657 million (SEK6.92 billion), up 9% from the first half of 2024.

EBIT for this period stood at around US$24.9 million (SEK262 million), a 5% increase, though the EBIT margin remained stable at 3.8%.

Earnings per kilogram of processed meat rose slightly from US$0.17 (SEK1.78) to US$0.18 (SEK1.80).

Workplace safety also saw notable progress, as the number of time-loss injuries dropped from 29.1 to 14.5 per million working hours between the first halves of 2024 and 2025.

To support environmental targets, Scandi Standard is conducting trials in its operating countries aimed at improving chicken feed with lower soy content.

Founded in 2013, the company operates in several European countries under brands such as Kronfågel, Danpo, Den Stolte Hane, Naapurin Maalaiskana, and Manor Farm.
