Sucafina expands European presence with new trading office in Germany
The Swiss-based coffee trader strengthens its global footprint with a new office in Bremen, Germany, opening in 2026.
GERMANY – Sucafina, a multinational green coffee trading company, is set to open a new trading office in Bremen, Germany, in January 2026, marking its first full-scale operation in the country.
The move underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening its presence in Europe’s largest coffee-consuming market by volume.
The newly established entity, Sucafina Germany, aligns with the company’s global growth strategy and highlights Germany’s pivotal role in the international coffee industry.
Jordan Hooper, head of green coffee trading at Sucafina, stated, “Establishing a dedicated legal entity in Germany underscores our long-term commitment to the country and the key role it plays in the global coffee industry.”
Sucafina Germany will be led by seasoned coffee traders Bastian Fülles and Tobias Schwind, who bring over three decades of combined experience.
According to the company, the new office will offer localized services tailored to meet the specific needs of the German market, while leveraging Sucafina’s global sourcing network and supply chain expertise.
Headquartered in Switzerland, Sucafina operates over 20 subsidiaries across the coffee value chain, with a focus on import, export, and trading.
In North America, the company has offices in Brooklyn, Fort Lauderdale, and Seattle. Its global expansion includes recent launches in Guatemala, New Zealand, Indonesia, and China’s Yunnan Province.
Germany is the second-largest importer of coffee in the world, behind Brazil. In 2023, it imported approximately US$4.06 billion worth of coffee.
Bremen, the location of the new office, is historically significant as a major European coffee port and remains a key hub for coffee imports, re-exports, and value-added processing.
Sucafina, which traces its origins to 1905, employs over 1,500 people across 44 countries.
The company has also expanded its reach through strategic acquisitions, including UK-based Complete Coffee Ltd in 2021 and U.S.-based Sustainable Harvest in 2023.
