Sunbeth Global secures US$145M commercial paper programme to strengthen Nigeria’s cocoa export value chain

Nigeria’s leading cocoa exporter launches multi-series commercial paper issuance to fund working capital and expand export operations.

NIGERIA – Sunbeth Global Concepts Limited, one of Nigeria’s largest cocoa exporters, has secured approval to establish a N200 billion (US$145.02M) commercial paper (CP) programme aimed at strengthening the cocoa export value chain.

Under the programme, the company has already launched up to N100 billion US$72.51M) across Series 1, 2 and 3 CP issuances. The instruments are structured across 180-day, 270-day and 364-day tenors.

According to the company, the offer is designed to finance contractual working capital requirements, including inventory procurement and the execution of physical and hedged offtake obligations within its export operations.

The offer opened on Friday, 27 February 2026, and is scheduled to close on Thursday, 5 March 2026, with allotment and settlement set for Friday, 6 March 2026.

The CP is available at a minimum subscription of N5,000,000 and in multiples of N1,000 thereafter. The instruments will be quoted on FMDQ and/or NGX.

Established in 2017, Sunbeth has exported over 200,000 metric tonnes of cocoa beans and 60,000 metric tonnes of cashew nuts to international markets. In 2025, the company recorded revenues exceeding ₦600 billion, reinforcing its position within Nigeria’s non-oil export segment.

Sunbeth works directly with more than 30,000 farmers and collaborates with over 250 local buying agents nationwide, providing access to quality produce while supporting rural livelihoods across cocoa-producing regions.

Its global strategic partners include Cargill, JB Cocoa, Touton, Macquarie and StoneX, enabling diversified offtake and multi-destination market access.

Chief Operating Officer Nzubechukwu Anisiobi said: “The establishment of our N200 billion CP programme reflects our disciplined capital strategy and solid credit profile. In a working capital-intensive export business, access to structured short-term funding strengthens liquidity, supports efficient contract execution and preserves balance sheet stability.

“The programme underscores the confidence the capital markets have in our governance standards, earnings resilience and robust risk management discipline.”
