The new flavour-paired range features a selection of versatile profiles such as lime & mint, peach tea, ginger tea, watermelon, tropical, and an innovative “original” option.

USA – Synergy Flavours, a global expert in flavour creation and taste modulation, has unveiled a new range of flavour-paired concepts designed to elevate the sensory appeal of greens ready-to-mix (RTM) powders.
These innovations, part of Synergy’s Paired to Perfection portfolio, represent a scientific approach to balancing taste, masking undesirable off-notes, and enhancing desirable flavour compounds that align with evolving consumer preferences in the health and wellness segment.
At the core of this innovation lies Synergy’s deep understanding of flavour chemistry and data-driven taste design.
The company utilised advanced sensory and analytical testing to identify key aroma compounds naturally occurring in unflavoured greens powders.
This research enabled Synergy’s flavour scientists to develop complementary flavour-paired solutions at the molecular level, ensuring the resulting blends harmonise naturally with the powder’s inherent vegetal and fruity notes.
While “unflavoured” and “original” greens products are reportedly the most popular with consumers, Synergy’s internal research highlights an intriguing market insight: more than 20 percent of products marketed as “unflavoured” still declare a flavouring on the back label.
This often indicates the presence of specialist taste modulation ingredients or generic flavour bases intended to neutralize bitterness and improve palatability.
Synergy’s new range directly addresses this gap by offering authentic, data-backed flavour solutions that preserve the “clean-label” appeal while improving sensory quality.
The new flavour-paired range features a selection of versatile profiles such as lime & mint, peach tea, ginger tea, watermelon, tropical, and an innovative “original” option.
The latter was meticulously crafted using Synergy’s flavour-pairing data to accentuate the greens’ natural fruity characteristics without overpowering them, a subtle balance that reflects consumer demand for both naturalness and refreshment.
Commenting on the launch, Chris Whiting, European Category Development Manager at Synergy Flavours, noted the rapid global expansion of the greens category.
“Following the explosion of the US greens market, from US$112 million in 2023 to US$209 million in 2024, the European sector is forecasted to grow at a 7.7% CAGR through 2030. As consumers seek convenient ways to maximise nutrition, Synergy’s Paired to Perfection approach offers manufacturers the tools to innovate effectively and compete in this fast-growing space.”
