Carlsberg Britvic expands Pepsi portfolio with new zero-sugar ice cream-inspired cola flavours

Carlsberg Britvic has unveiled three new Pepsi ice cream-inspired zero-sugar cola flavours aimed at attracting younger consumers and boosting summer soft drinks sales.

UK – Carlsberg Britvic has expanded its Pepsi portfolio with the launch of three new ice cream-inspired zero-sugar cola flavours, targeting younger consumers seeking indulgent and innovative soft drink experiences.

The new Pepsi range introduces Cherry & Vanilla, Raspberry Ripple and Salted Caramel Ice Cream Flavours, combining the brand’s classic cola taste with creamy dessert-inspired profiles.

The launch is designed to strengthen Pepsi’s position in the growing flavoured cola category while offering retailers new opportunities to drive summer sales.

According to Carlsberg Britvic, the latest additions build on the success of Pepsi’s previous flavour innovations, including the Strawberries ‘N’ Cream and Cream Soda variants launched in 2025.

The company said those products became the most successful cola new product development in the last five years, contributing significant incremental growth to both the cola category and Pepsi’s overall performance.

The company noted that younger consumers are increasingly seeking bold and nostalgic flavours that deliver a sense of “intentional treating,” creating demand for more experiential beverage options.

“The trio aims to meet consumer appetite for bold flavours, as the flavoured cola category continues to grow ahead of unflavoured cola,” the company said.

The new beverages feature a zero-sugar formulation and are intended to deliver what Pepsi describes as a “cold, bold and surreal” taste experience. Each flavour combines the familiar Pepsi cola base with creamy sweetness inspired by classic ice cream combinations.

Natalia Filippociants, Senior Vice President and General Manager Europe International Beverages at PepsiCo, said the launch reflects the brand’s continued focus on flavour innovation and zero-sugar products.

“Pepsi continues to innovate and bring unique flavours, as well as zero sugar offerings to retailers’ shelves and this new launch only builds on that momentum,” said Filippociants.

“These new Ice Cream-inspired Flavours have been crafted with a younger generation in mind, designed to be a fun, zero-sugar summer treat that’s a little unexpected – but in the best way.”

Munnawar Chishty, Chief Marketing Officer at Carlsberg Britvic, said the launch is expected to strengthen Pepsi’s appeal in the competitive soft drinks market.

“Shoppers are actively seeking soft drinks that offer great flavour and following in the success of Strawberries ‘N’ Cream and Cream Soda flavours, we’re confident that the trio will continue to deliver,” Chishty said.

The new Pepsi Ice Cream Flavours launched in Tesco stores from May 18, ahead of a wider nationwide rollout of the Cherry & Vanilla and Raspberry Ripple variants from July 14.

The beverages will be available in multiple formats, including 500ml bottles, price-marked packs, eight-can multipacks and individual 330ml cans for selected flavours.

The launch will also be supported by outdoor advertising campaigns and product sampling activities throughout the summer season.
