Funding and feed registrations were also approved as part of sector oversight.

EGYPT – Egypt’s Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation granted 468 operating licenses for livestock, poultry, feed manufacturing, and milk collection ventures during the first half of February 2026.
The approvals include both newly issued permits and renewals processed through the ministry’s Animal and Poultry Wealth Development Sector, according to an official report submitted to Agriculture Minister Alaa Farouk.
The document was prepared by the sector head, Tarek Suleiman, who detailed the department’s administrative and technical activities during the reporting period.
Suleiman stated that the licensing decisions follow policy directions from Minister Farouk and Deputy Minister Mostafa El Sayyad, which call for faster processing of applications while maintaining established safety and disease-control requirements.
Authorities indicated that the measures are intended to support investment in livestock and poultry production, as well as the feed industry, while ensuring that all feed formulations comply with approved regulatory standards.
The ministry also reported that the licensing and oversight framework is designed to help raise production capacity and enable companies to meet requirements for exporting animal products to international markets.
Alongside licensing activities, officials confirmed that financing totalling about US$6.35 million (EGP 297.36 million) was distributed to 425 recipients through Egypt’s National Calf Project.
The financial support is intended to assist farmers and producers involved in raising and fattening cattle, with the latest round of funding linked to the rearing of 4,251 head of livestock.
In addition, regulatory authorities approved the registration of 294 feed mixtures, including 190 produced domestically and 104 imported products, after reviews conducted with specialized research institutions.
These approvals were completed in coordination with the Regional Center for Feed and Food and the Animal Production Research Institute, which evaluate technical standards and ingredient composition.
Meanwhile, 22 new livestock and poultry facilities located in desert hinterland areas received technical clearance after meeting preventive health measures and biosecurity requirements set by the ministry.
Export permissions were also issued for a range of products including fish feed, feed additives, processed poultry products, and frozen poultry items.
The frozen poultry exports covered several species such as quail, duck, pigeon, and turkey, destined for markets in Arab countries and other international destinations.
At the same time, the ministry expanded the use of digital systems for licensing procedures covering automated livestock, poultry, and feed projects.
These electronic services are available through the ministry’s official website, the Egypt Digital Platform, and mobile applications, which authorities say are intended to reduce processing times and improve access to licensing services.
