Rémy Cointreau partners with Monika Alcobev to expand spirits distribution in India

The partnership consolidates Rémy Cointreau’s Indian distribution network as the group pursues stronger market reach and sales growth under its RC Forward transformation plan.

INDIA – Rémy Cointreau has partnered with Monika Alcobev to manage distribution and marketing of its spirits brands in India.

The Rémy Martin owner said the partnership would help it deepen its India strategy through a single-window platform backed by scale, efficiency, and market intelligence.

The move follows Rémy Cointreau’s decision in April to review its distribution network under its three-year RC Forward transformation plan. The company said the review was intended “to expand reach and capture untapped growth opportunities”.

“Consolidating our presence across India with a single unified mandate and partner will undeniably strengthen our position on this market,” said Ian McLernon, Rémy Cointreau’s chief markets officer.

“We are confident Monika Alcobev Limited teams will build and drive an ambitious and sustainable growth plan for our brands as well as creating memorable and culturally relevant experiences for the Indian consumer,” he added.

Monika Alcobev said the distribution transition is under way and will be completed across retail and hospitality channels in the coming months.

Hemang Chandat, chief commercial officer of Monika Alcobev, said the partnership would strengthen operations and relationships with consumers.

“This partnership allows us to streamline operations, offer stronger brand visibility, and drive deeper relationships with customers who already love Rémy Cointreau’s iconic brands,” Chandat said.

Founded in 2015, Monika Alcobev operates across importing, logistics, distribution and marketing, serving HORECA, retail and duty-free channels. The company has a portfolio of more than 100 labels and launched a Rs 165.63 crore SME initial public offering on the BSE in July 2025.

Rémy Cointreau has identified India as part of its plans to revive sales. In June, the group said it was targeting a €100 million increase in operating profit over the next three financial years.

The company highlighted plans for scaling up operations in emerging markets, accelerating sales in travel retail and steps to optimise advertising and promotion spending.

For the 12 months ended March 31, Rémy Cointreau reported group sales of €935.3 million, down 5% on a reported basis but up 0.2% organically. Current operating profit fell 11.5% to €165.4 million.

For the 2026-27 financial year, the group said it “anticipates a return to sustainable organic sales growth, with momentum expected to strengthen progressively over the year”.
