A dark chocolate version of the Brazil nuts is slated for release in April 2026, with additional classic confections under consideration.

UK – Whitakers Chocolates, one of the UK’s oldest chocolatiers, has announced the launch of its new Milk Chocolate Brazil Nuts, marking the debut of its newly commissioned nut processing facility at the company’s Snaygill site in Skipton, North Yorkshire.
The expansion represents a major milestone in Whitakers’ 135-year history and reinforces its reputation for quality craftsmanship and innovation within the British confectionery industry.
The new facility, supported by parent company Bramble Foods Group, allows Whitakers to bring nut processing fully in-house for the first time.
This strategic move strengthens production security at its long-established BRC AA* accredited factory while providing a platform for future product diversification.
Managing Director William Whitaker described the investment as a bold but necessary step in the face of current market challenges.
“This investment hasn’t come lightly, especially with the unpredictability within the cocoa market,” he said. “However, with Bramble’s backing, our ambition to create a dedicated nut processing facility has now become a reality. This will enhance our seasonal chocolate range and open new opportunities for own-label partnerships.”
The first product from the new line, double-enrobed Milk Chocolate Brazil Nuts, will launch in time for the Christmas season.
The indulgent treat features premium whole Brazil nuts coated in two layers of Whitakers’ signature milk chocolate, combining smooth texture with rich flavour.
Early feedback suggests it could become a seasonal bestseller, appealing to both traditionalists and gifting customers.
Looking ahead, the Skipton facility will enable further product development. A dark chocolate version of the Brazil nuts is slated for release in April 2026, with additional classic confections such as marzipan, nougat, and Turkish delight under consideration.
By controlling more of its production process, Whitakers aims to increase efficiency, improve quality assurance, and expand its offerings for retail and private-label partners across the UK and beyond.
The expansion underscores Whitakers’ enduring commitment to blending heritage with innovation.
Founded in 1889, the company remains a family-led business rooted in craftsmanship while adapting to evolving consumer tastes and market demands.
As it enters this next phase of growth, Whitakers continues to strengthen its legacy as a trusted name in British chocolate making.
