2 Sisters Food Group sells Hook2Sisters poultry business to Boparan Private Office
The joint venture, which operates over 170 farms in the UK, will now be fully owned by Ranjit Singh Boparan’s private investment vehicle.
UK – 2 Sisters Food Group and PD Hook have sold their entire stakes in Hook2Sisters, their jointly owned poultry farming venture, to Boparan Private Office (BPO).
Hook2Sisters runs more than 170 poultry farms across the UK and employs approximately 1,000 staff.
For the financial year ending July 2024, the company reported sales amounting to US$1.31 billion (approx. £964.2 million) and posted a pre-tax profit of US$1.07 million (approx. £786,000).
The sale transfers full ownership of the poultry business to BPO, the private investment arm of Ranjit Singh Boparan, also known in the industry for his extensive involvement in the chicken sector.
A new company, 2 Agriculture Holdings Ltd, has been established under the BPO umbrella to take over all shares previously held by the joint venture partners.
Staff transfer and structure
All employees working at Hook2Sisters’ hatcheries, rearing units, and breeding farms will move to 2 Agriculture Breeding Ltd, a newly formed company, under the same employment terms and conditions.
The deal eliminates the 50/50 partnership structure between 2 Sisters and PD Hook, giving Boparan full control over operations.
In addition to acquiring the joint venture, Boparan also purchased several hatcheries and breeding facilities directly from PD Hook, further consolidating ownership of the supply chain.
While the companies have not disclosed the exact value of the transaction, a representative from 2 Sisters Food Group confirmed that it exceeds US$1.35 million (approx. £1 million).
The spokesperson said the previous arrangement lacked a single controlling party, which prompted Boparan to pursue sole ownership.
With the acquisition, BPO now controls all farming operations under the Hook2Sisters brand, from breeding stock to rearing.
