Percol debuts in India with three premium instant blends, emphasizing sustainability and flavour to attract modern coffee consumers.

INDIA – CCL Products (India) Ltd. has introduced the UK-based premium coffee brand Percol to the Indian market, following its acquisition of the brand in 2023.
The move is part of CCL’s strategy to strengthen its retail portfolio and expand globally recognized offerings in emerging markets.
Percol, founded in 1987 by Brian Chapman, was the first coffee brand in the UK to be certified Fairtrade. Before its acquisition, CCL Products was already developing Percol’s instant blends for the UK market.
When the brand was listed for sale, CCL capitalized on the opportunity, citing its familiarity with Percol’s value proposition and long-standing association as key drivers behind the acquisition.
With a focus on premium positioning, CCL launched Percol in India targeting coffee-conscious urban consumers.
The brand’s entry into the market aligns with evolving consumption patterns, where Indian consumers, particularly professionals and young adults, are increasingly seeking high-quality, ethically sourced coffee with refined flavours and sustainable packaging.
The launch features three freeze-dried instant coffee variants — Intenzo, Da Essenza, and Espresso Noir. Each is crafted with beans sourced from renowned coffee-growing regions such as Colombia and Vietnam.
The company emphasized that these blends cater to India’s growing demand for nuanced and sophisticated coffee experiences.
Praveen Jaipuriar, CEO of CCL Products (India) Ltd., stated, “Percol represents not just premium coffee, but a philosophy that resonates with today’s nuanced consumer, who is particular about the sophistication, depth and the value of the products they consume.”
As part of its sustainability commitment, Percol products in India come in premium, plastic-free packaging.
The coffee is packed in reusable glass jars with metal caps and encased in matte-finished boxes featuring embossed designs, spot-UV effects, and the brand’s signature vignette logo.
Percol is now available on major e-commerce platforms and in select supermarkets, with an initial focus on Tier-1 cities in North and West India.
CCL Products posted strong financials for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2025. Consolidated net profit rose by 56.35% year-on-year to Rs 101.9 crore (US$11.8M), while revenue from operations increased 15% to Rs 836 crore (US$96.9M), driven by robust export demand and improved capacity utilization at its Vietnam plant.
Headquartered in Hyderabad, CCL Products operates four manufacturing plants across India, Vietnam, and Switzerland with a combined annual production capacity exceeding 45,000 tonnes.
