DP World names Ahmad Yousef Al Hassan as CEO and Managing Director for the GCC, overseeing ports, logistics and economic zones across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Oman.

UAE – DP World has appointed Ahmad Yousef Al Hassan as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director for the GCC, placing him in charge of the company’s integrated operations across several key Gulf markets.
In his new role, Al Hassan will oversee a portfolio that includes ports and terminals, economic zones, digital technology platforms and logistics solutions across the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman and other markets in the Upper Gulf region.
The company said Al Hassan will lead strategy and performance across the GCC with a focus on strengthening end-to-end supply chains and delivering integrated logistics solutions for customers across the region.
Al Hassan previously served as Chief Financial Officer for DP World’s GCC operations between 2021 and 2026. He brings more than 23 years of international experience, having worked in global financial and logistics hubs including Dubai, Washington DC, London and Hong Kong.
Since joining the company in 2010, Al Hassan has held several senior leadership roles across finance and strategy functions.
His previous positions include roles in Group Treasury and Business Development, Deputy Chief Financial Officer at London Gateway in the United Kingdom, and Chief Financial Officer for the company’s Asia Pacific operations based in Hong Kong.
He currently serves on the boards of several companies in the UAE and Oman. He has also previously held board positions across various DP World business units in South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam and Philippines.
The appointment follows the recent naming of Abdulla Bin Damithan as Chairman of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation in February 2026, a move aimed at strengthening strategic coordination across Dubai’s trade and logistics ecosystem.
Commenting on the evolving global trade environment, Al Hassan said the company is focused on maintaining the smooth movement of cargo.
“Trade is becoming more interconnected and complex than ever, and our priority is to keep cargo moving safely and efficiently for our customers,” he said.
“We are monitoring developments in the Arabian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz closely and operating our Dubai ports and terminals with enhanced safety and security measures.”
He added that Jebel Ali Port remains fully operational.
“Jebel Ali Port’s container and general cargo terminals remain fully operational and we are working closely with the UAE authorities, shipping lines, logistics partners and other UAE ports to minimise disruption and support the continued movement of cargo for customers.”
Separately, DP World recently appointed Yuvraj Narayan as Group Chief Executive Officer following the resignation of long-time CEO Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem.
