Kasapreko IPO attracts US$147.6M in bids, oversubscribed by 146%

Strong investor demand positions Kasapreko for its next growth phase as the beverage maker prepares to begin trading on the Ghana Stock Exchange.

GHANA – Kasapreko PLC’s Initial Public Offering (IPO) has attracted overwhelming investor demand, with total bids reaching approximately GH¢1.72 billion (US$147.6M), more than double the company’s target raise of GH¢700 million (US$60.06M).

The strong response represents a subscription level of about 246%, translating into an oversubscription of roughly 146% above the amount sought by the Ghanaian beverage manufacturer. The development makes the Kasapreko IPO one of the most successful public offerings in Ghana’s recent capital market history.

The company launched the offer to raise GH¢700 million (US$60.06M) through the issuance of 583.3 million ordinary shares at GH¢1.20 per share.

Proceeds from the IPO are expected to support the next phase of expansion, including the construction of a new production facility dedicated to bottled water and carbonated soft drinks.

According to Kasapreko, the high level of investor participation reflects strong confidence in the company’s growth strategy and long-term prospects.

“The significant interest shown by investors demonstrates confidence in Kasapreko’s business model and future growth plans,” the company said.

Market observers have linked the exceptional demand to Kasapreko’s strong portfolio of brands, sustained growth trajectory, expanding export presence, and attractive valuation relative to other beverage companies.

Over the past five years, the company has strengthened its position as one of Ghana’s leading indigenous manufacturers and exporters.

Due to the substantial oversubscription, the Board of Kasapreko allotted shares to qualified applicants on a pro rata basis.

Trading in Kasapreko PLC shares is expected to commence on June 15, 2026, under the ticker symbol KASA. From that date, investors seeking to acquire additional shares and shareholders wishing to sell their holdings will be able to trade through licensed stockbrokers on the Ghana Stock Exchange.

With GH¢1.72 billion committed by investors, the IPO is expected to rank among the largest and most heavily subscribed offerings in Ghana in recent years, highlighting growing confidence in the country’s capital markets.

As Kasapreko prepares for its stock market debut, the company is entering a new phase focused on disciplined expansion, operational efficiency, and strategic investments aimed at meeting rising domestic and international demand.

Supported by a strengthened capital base and broad investor backing, the company said it remains committed to innovation, quality, and delivering value to shareholders and other stakeholders.
