AB InBev to acquire 85% atake in BeatBox Beverages in US$490M deal

AB InBev has announced a majority acquisition of BeatBox Beverages, expanding its fast-growing ready-to-drink portfolio.

USA – Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) has confirmed it will acquire an 85% stake in BeatBox Beverages for approximately US$490m, securing a majority position in one of the fastest-growing ready-to-drink (RTD) brands in the United States.

The agreement follows an earlier report suggesting the brewer was nearing a purchase that valued BeatBox at around US$700m.

The multinational brewer, which initially declined to comment on the speculation, has now stated that the transaction includes an option to assume full ownership of the brand after five years.

The deal represents a significant expansion of AB InBev’s “beyond beer” portfolio as the company continues to diversify beyond traditional beer offerings.

BeatBox Beverages produces a range of non-carbonated alcoholic punches packaged in 330ml Tetra Pak cartons. The products are made using wine, malt, and spirits as their base and are available in more than 13 flavours, including Blue Raspberry, Fruit Punch, Juicy Mango, and Orange Blast.

The brand will join AB InBev’s existing RTD lineup, which includes Cutwater Spirits and Nütrl, the latter two having been integrated into the group’s portfolio in recent years.

Founded in Texas in 2011 by Justin Fenchel, Aimy Steadman, and Brad Schultz, BeatBox has developed a strong consumer following.

Fenchel described the acquisition as a natural next step, citing the company’s longstanding relationship with Anheuser-Busch and the potential for accelerated growth under the brewer’s ownership.

AB InBev referred to BeatBox as a top-10 RTD brand in the U.S. market. According to Circana data for the 52 weeks ending 23 November 2025, BeatBox generated more than US$340m in retail sales in the U.S. off-trade, an increase of over 50% compared to the previous year.

AB InBev CEO Brendan Whitworth welcomed the addition, saying he had spent the past year working closely with the BeatBox team and noted their entrepreneurial mindset and consumer engagement capabilities.

He added that the company is confident the brand will benefit from AB InBev’s established approach to scaling high-growth products.

The transaction is subject to regulatory review and customary closing conditions. Both companies expect the acquisition to be completed in the first quarter of 2026.
