Amrit Bottlers inaugurates US$79.4M Coca-Cola Plant in Gorakhpur
The new Gorakhpur facility will enhance Coca-Cola’s production capacity, create jobs, and support Uttar Pradesh’s industrial growth.
INDIA – Amrit Bottlers, a flagship company of SLMG Group and authorised Coca-Cola manufacturer, has inaugurated its new bottling facility in Gorakhpur Industrial Development Area (GIDA).
Built with an investment of Rs 700 crore (US$79.4M), the state-of-the-art plant spans 40 acres in Sector 27 and is expected to generate over 2,000 direct and indirect jobs.
With a bottling capacity of 2,900 bottles per minute (bpm), the plant strengthens Coca-Cola’s supply chain in Uttar Pradesh, lifting SLMG’s overall production from 3.03 crore to 3.46 crore bottles daily across its seven operational plants.
The Gorakhpur project marks Amrit Bottlers’ 10th facility in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, underscoring the group’s long-term commitment to industrial development and sustainable practices in the region.
Rakesh Ladhani, Director of Amrit Bottlers Pvt Ltd, said the facility will not only support Coca-Cola’s beverage supply chain but also play a role in local economic growth.
“By generating jobs and adopting sustainable practices, we aim to contribute to the state’s vision of economic prosperity and empower communities with meaningful opportunities,” he noted.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who participated in the bhoomi pujan, praised Amrit Bottlers for its contribution to Uttar Pradesh’s industrial transformation. He emphasized that the project aligns with the state’s policies to attract major investments, positioning Gorakhpur as an emerging industrial hub.
The plant’s design highlights sustainability and energy efficiency, aligning with the state’s broader focus on balancing growth with environmental responsibility.
The new facility is part of SLMG Beverages’ US$1 billion investment plan by 2030 to expand operations in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The group currently supports over 79,000 direct and indirect jobs across its value chain, with a direct workforce of 5,000 employees.
Ranked among the top 15 Coca-Cola bottlers globally, SLMG Beverages aims to break into the top 10 in the coming years. The company expects its revenues to rise beyond Rs 8,000 crore (US$907.9M) in FY 2025 and reach Rs 10,000 crore (US$1.1B) in FY 2026.
