Cereal Ingredients debuts new Cluster and Granola manufacturing plant

USA—After a protracted 12 months of design and building, CII’s new multi-million-dollar manufacturing plant will be opening up in Missouri, producing CII’s newest innovations, clusters and granola which are hitting the shelves in the Summer of 2022.

Clusters and Granola begin with an oat base and transform with various ingredients, including protein crisps, dried fruit, nuts and more. The potentialities are countless for the design of a product.

Clusters can be eaten as a snack, added to cereals to create a flavor profile or used to top a smoothie bowl while Granola can be used as a base for a cereal or in granola bars.

CII says it can customize products to complete their clients’ end design goal. In the multiple on-site Research and Development labs at CII, they have created an innovation process to adapt to customer needs since its inception.

Founded in 1990, CII produces food particulates that add flavor, texture and color to baked foods, ready-to-eat cereal, ice cream and other applications.

According to the company, unlike most fat-based or sugar-based particles, their food particulates stand up to heat, moisture, are shelf stable and they make products look and taste better.

“At CII, we recognize that our customers want quality products from a company who cares. We are proud to create food ingredients that not only look great, but have a delicious and wholesome taste.”

The company also offers texturized plant proteins and plant-based crisps. “With increasing pressure to feed the world while using less resources, our ability to provide a diverse portfolio of TPP is critical to helping CII maintain its role as a key player in the food industry.”

Products can come in vast array of colors, flavors, sizes, formulation and granulation. CII’s products are available to be created as: gluten free, sugar free, sodium free, nut free, Kosher, non-GMO, organic, vegan and many more.

In addition to the new clusters and granola production, CII also invested in multiple panning systems, which can add desired coatings to products like yogurt, chocolate and a candy shell.

Mid-year, CII is very excited to announce that they will be offering Ingredient Heat Treatment Processing, which significantly reduces pathogens to an acceptable level in bagged ingredients like wheat, starch, pea, soy, rice and corn.
