Heineken achieves major milestone as demand for alcohol-free beer surges across Europe’s bars and restaurants.

UK – Heineken has reached a significant milestone by installing its Heineken 0.0 draught at its 10,000th outlet across Europe, reinforcing its leadership in the rapidly growing non-alcoholic beer category.
This achievement highlights the growing mainstream acceptance of alcohol-free options in bars and restaurants throughout major markets including the Netherlands, UK, Spain, Ireland, and France.
Since launching Heineken® 0.0 draught in 2018, the company has steadily increased the availability of its non-alcoholic beer on tap, reflecting a cultural shift toward moderation and responsible consumption.
Nearly 60% of outlets in Ireland, and more than 2,000 venues in both the UK and Spain, now serve Heineken 0.0 on draught. This expansion mirrors the rising consumer demand for alcohol-free beer across Europe’s hospitality sector.
“Reaching 10,000 outlets with Heineken 0.0 on draught proves that alcohol-free beer has truly entered the mainstream,” said Michael Gillane, Regional Global Brands Director Europe.
“With 0.0 draught positioned alongside traditional beer taps, the notion of choosing something ‘different’ when ordering alcohol-free is rapidly fading. Heineken 0.0 on draught helps normalize non-alcoholic beer in more social settings, making great beer accessible to everyone.”
Demand for Heineken® 0.0 is especially strong in the Netherlands, where alcohol-free draught consumption has recorded annual growth of 25%. A Nielsen study commissioned by Heineken also found that one in four sports fans now opts for alcohol-free beer while watching their team, demonstrating the product’s integration into everyday social occasions.
Heineken has introduced three draught solutions to maintain quality and ensure a premium, freshly poured pint experience across venues of all sizes. These range from an 8-litre system for smaller outlets to a 20-litre system, and a cutting-edge high-volume solution for larger venues.
According to Jules Macken, Global Innovation Director at Heineken, the company’s technological advancements have resulted in a true 0.0 beer on draught with zero alcohol formation in the line, marking a breakthrough for the industry.
With an 18% global share of the alcohol-free beer market, Heineken continues to lead the category, expanding consumer choice while reinforcing its commitment to responsible drinking.
The brewer also launched limited-edition ‘L0VE.L0VE’ cans of Heineken® 0.0 in the US last month, timed with the US Open, further strengthening its alcohol-free brand presence worldwide.
