Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages names Hemant Rupani as new CEO 

Hemant Rupani appointed as CEO of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, bringing over 25 years of FMCG leadership to the role.

INDIA – Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. (HCCB), the largest bottling partner of The Coca-Cola Company in India, has appointed Hemant Rupani as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 8 September 2025.  

Rupani succeeds Juan Pablo Rodriguez, who will transition to a new role within the Coca-Cola system. 

The appointment was confirmed in an official statement by the company, highlighting Rupani’s extensive experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector. 

Rupani currently serves as the Business Unit President for Southeast Asia at Mondelez International Inc., overseeing operations across Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. 

During his nine-year tenure at Mondelez, he held multiple leadership positions, including Director of Sales for India and Vice President & Managing Director for Vietnam.  

He assumed his current regional leadership role in 2022. Rupani will report to the HCCB board of directors upon taking office. 

Rupani began his career with ICI India Ltd. in 1997 before moving to PepsiCo in 1999. He briefly joined Infosys Technologies in 2002 but returned to PepsiCo in 2004, where he spent six years and rose to the role of Senior Vice President, Customer Marketing, for India Beverages.  

He later held leadership positions at Vodafone and Britannia Industries before joining Mondelez in 2016. 

He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Regional Engineering College, Jaipur, and an MBA in marketing from the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi. 

HCCB plays a key role in Coca-Cola’s India operations, with 13 manufacturing facilities serving 236 districts across 12 states in southern and western India.  

In FY24, the company’s consolidated revenue from operations rose 10% year-on-year to Rs 14,021.54 crore (US$1.6B), while net profit surged 246% to Rs 2,808.3 crore (US$326.7M), according to business intelligence firm Tofler. 

In December 2024, Coca-Cola announced that the Jubilant Bhartia Group would acquire a 40% stake in Hindustan Coca-Cola Holdings Pvt. Ltd., the parent company of HCCB.  

The Competition Commission of India approved the deal in May 2025. The acquisition will be executed through Jubilant Beverages Limited. 

HCCB forms part of Coca-Cola’s broader bottling network in India, which includes 11 other large bottlers. The company markets popular brands such as Coca-Cola, Thums Up, Sprite, Fanta, and Minute Maid.
