Nescafé exceeds sustainability goals with 32% regenerative coffee sourcing and unveils AI-driven digital content platform for brand marketing.

SWITZERLAND – Nestlé’s flagship coffee brand, Nescafé, has surpassed its 2025 target for regenerative agriculture by sourcing 32 percent of its coffee from farmers practicing sustainable farming methods in 2024.
This milestone exceeds the original goal of 20 percent, according to the Nescafé Plan 2030 Progress Report, demonstrating growing adoption of regenerative agriculture among coffee farmers worldwide.
The Nescafé Plan currently encompasses over 400,000 hectares of coffee farmland. In 2024, more than 1,400 field staff and agronomists trained over 200,000 coffee farmers across 16 countries in regenerative practices.
These practices include optimized fertilization, soil cover, mulching, and composting, aimed at improving productivity, reducing costs, and lowering greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions during coffee production.
Participants in the Nescafé Plan achieved a 20 to 40 percent reduction in GHG emissions per kilogram of green coffee in 2024. The program also continued its coffee plantlet initiative, distributing 21 million plantlets to support improved yields and climate adaptation.
Climate change challenges, such as adverse weather and harsh growing conditions, continue to impact the coffee industry, contributing to record-high global prices for Arabica and Robusta coffee and supply shortages.
Nescafé emphasizes that building resilient coffee supply chains through regenerative agriculture is essential to address these issues.
Axel Touzet, Head of Nestlé’s Coffee Brands Strategic Business Unit, stated, “Regenerative agriculture is at the heart of the Nescafé Plan and our efforts to build resilience in our coffee supply chain. This third Progress Report shows that farmers are increasingly aware of the benefits of these practices, as reflected in rising adoption rates.”
Nestlé introduces AI-powered digital content service
Concurrently, Nestlé is launching a new AI-powered in-house service designed to create high-quality product content at scale for eCommerce and digital media channels.
The service uses digital twins—exact 3D virtual replicas of physical products—developed on NVIDIA Omniverse and OpenUSD platforms.
Digital twins enable product packaging to be digitally adjusted or localized for various environments, such as seasonal campaigns or channel-specific formats. This allows Nestlé to generate creative content rapidly using AI, without the need for constant reshooting.
David Rennie, Head of Strategic Business Units, Marketing and Sales at Nestlé, explained, “Our new content organization allows us to leverage the talents of our teams to produce high-quality, consistent, scalable content supported by AI digital assistants and digital twin technologies. This marks a significant advancement in reimagining content creation and delivering exceptional digital experiences.”
