This process also ensures zero-waste convenience for busy home cooks who want healthy, natural ingredients without the hassle of chopping or the risk of spoilage.

UK – Frozen organic food specialist Pack’d has broadened its retail portfolio with the launch of a new range of organic frozen ingredients designed to make home cooking faster, easier, and more sustainable.
The line includes Organic Chopped Onion, Organic Chopped Garlic, Organic Chopped Ginger, and an Organic Soffritto Base made from carrots, celery, and onion.
This innovation comes as UK households discard an estimated 7 million tonnes of edible fresh food each year, costing the average family of four around £1,000 (US$1,300) annually.
By offering ingredients that are pre-prepared, portionable, and frozen at peak freshness, Pack’d aims to help households reduce waste while cooking nutritious meals with minimal effort.
The move also reflects broader market trends. The UK frozen food market is forecast to grow at a 6.6% CAGR from 2024 to 2030, with frozen fruits and vegetables emerging as the fastest-growing and most lucrative segment.
Pack’d sees this as an opportunity to build on its existing reputation for high-quality frozen smoothie kits and whole fruits by moving into the versatile ingredient space.
All products in the new line are packed and frozen on the day of harvest, preserving both flavour and nutritional value.
This process also ensures zero-waste convenience for busy home cooks who want healthy, natural ingredients without the hassle of chopping or the risk of spoilage.
Katy Hamblin, Pack’d’s Marketing Director, said the launch represents a new era for the brand.
“Our mission has always been to get tasty, convenient food into more people’s freezers. Expanding into organic frozen ingredients is a natural next step. More people than ever care about what goes into their food, and cooking with whole, natural ingredients is clearly on the rise,” she added.
Hamblin noted that eating well should fit effortlessly into everyday life, but hectic schedules often make cooking from scratch difficult. The new range is designed to make home cooking quicker, easier, and more nutritious, without compromising on quality or flavour.
The new products will roll out this month via Ocado, priced at £2.85 (US$3.71) per pack, supporting Pack’d’s mission to make healthy, sustainable eating accessible and waste-free.
