Pepsi Kenya unveils ‘Fizzmas’ campaign to drive festive engagement nationwide

The December campaign brings Pepsi’s beverage portfolio to concerts, malls, highways and restaurants across Kenya.

KENYA – Pepsi Kenya has launched Fizzmas, a KES 30 million (US$232.8K) festive season campaign aimed at engaging consumers through premium, high-energy experiences across the country throughout December.

The initiative is designed to place Pepsi at the centre of Kenya’s busiest social, retail and travel moments during the holiday period.

Built around the theme, “Everything Else Can Wait, It’s Christmas,” the campaign focuses on experiential engagement rather than traditional promotional mechanics.

Fizzmas brings Pepsi’s beverage portfolio directly to consumers through cultural events, shopping malls, travel corridors and foodservice partnerships, creating a visible and consistent festive presence nationwide.

The rollout expands Pepsi’s footprint across entertainment venues, high-traffic retail environments and key holiday travel routes. Products under the campaign include Pepsi, Mirinda, Aquafina and Sting Energy, all positioned to cater to different consumption occasions during the festive season.

Speaking at the campaign launch, John K’Otieno, Country Manager at SBC Kenya, said the initiative is designed to align with how Kenyans naturally celebrate the holidays.

He noted that Fizzmas focuses on meeting consumers in shared social spaces such as concerts, malls and travel hubs, while enhancing the overall festive environment through accessible product experiences.

As part of its nationwide activation, Pepsi has partnered with Simbisa Brands, incorporating Pizza Inn, Chicken Inn and Galito’s outlets into the campaign. These collaborations are intended to extend the Fizzmas experience across popular dining and takeaway locations.

In addition, Pepsi is working with Shell petrol stations to engage holiday travellers through product sampling and on-the-road activations along major routes.

The campaign also features strong visibility at key cultural events in Nairobi, alongside activations in high-footfall malls and retail centres including Galleria, The Junction, The Hub Karen, Garden City and Two Rivers, as well as selected hypermarkets.

SBC Kenya’s Business Development Director, Martin Kariuki, said Fizzmas supports consumer recruitment and broader market access. He highlighted the campaign’s role in introducing Pepsi’s diverse portfolio to consumers across events, restaurants, highways and community spaces during peak seasonal activity.

Fizzmas runs alongside the ongoing Kunywa Airtime na Pepsi Millennium Campaign, which continues to offer airtime, data and mobile money rewards through participating bottles. The festive campaign will extend into early January, aligning with peak travel, family gatherings and the back-to-school period.

With Kenya’s soft drinks market valued at more than US$3.74 billion, the December rollout reflects Pepsi Kenya’s focus on expanding distribution, strengthening brand visibility and reinforcing cultural relevance across multiple consumer segments.
